トムとジェリー (Japanese DVDs)

トムとジェリー is a 10-volume DVD series released by Warner Home Video released exclusively for Japan in 2001. It contains 150 cartoons in total, with 13 to 17 cartoons per DVD (including a repeat, making it 151). On each volume, there is an option on the main menu to either play the Japanese dub or the original English audio of the cartoons. Some unrestored 1995 NTSC Turner prints, never made it to American official collections such as the Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection despite being available to include as a "new" cartoon for those sets.

Most of the cartoons on each volume star Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse. The cartoons used in this DVD series are the same as the Japanese VHS tape series of the same name released in previous years, though unlike that collection, a Droopy cartoon is also included on every volume as a bonus feature. Each volume had 13 to 17 cartoons, consisting of 12 to 16 Tom and Jerry cartoons and 1 Droopy cartoon.

All of the cartoons in this DVD collection (including the 10 bonus Droopy cartoons) used unrestored 1995 NTSC Turner prints. However, most of the cartoons on this set were later restored (and re-restored) in both standard and high definitions; starting from the second volume of the Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection series. This DVD series is significant as one of (if not) the first officially authorized DVD release of the Tom and Jerry (and Droopy) theatrical cartoons anywhere in the world, and began an ongoing process to present the cartoons as closely to the original theatrical release as possible.

The majority of these cartoons have either made it onto later home video releases, such as the Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection and the Tom and Jerry Golden Collection series. Most of the cartoons have also been later restored (and re-restored) in both standard and high definitions; these new versions would be used for later home video collections, alongside contemporary streaming and television airings.
