Tom drinks a hair growing juice that grows him a mustache that instantly makes him popular with the ladies, but it does not take long for Butch and Jerry to interfere.
On the Boomerang streaming service, the title card is omitted for some reason. The TV version kept the title card intact.
Tom and Butch dueling each other with Liquid Locks hair growing juice to grow on their mustaches is similar to the plot in last half of the 1947 Tex Avery cartoon, King-Size Canary, where an alley cat and a mouse are fighting each others with the help of a bottle of 'Jumbo-Gro' fertilizer (which also makes animals grow) that makes them grow larger, even larger than the entire planet Earth itself until they all out the fertilizer.
Unlike King-Size Canary, only Tom and Butch's furs, mostly and mainly their mustaches grow and so far, they did not go far enough making their mustaches larger than the Earth. The ending with Dollface and Toodles (Toots) leaving both Tom and Butch and having enough with mustaches until they saw Jerry's Uncle Pecos who has a mustache, which his is a lot more natural, they start hanging out with him, instead of Tom or Butch who are pretty much still dueling each others on growing their mustaches without even unknowing that both Toodles (Toots) and Dollface already left both of them earlier.
Another Tex Avery reference, probably coincidentally, is the jazz club restaurant Tom, Dollface and Toodles (Toots) went to is called the Cat's Meow. This has the same name as a Tex Avery cartoon which was a CinemaScope remake of the previous Avery cartoon Ventriloquist Cat, starring Blackie Cat and Butch Dog seven years earlier.
This is one of the few episodes where food is being used as a substitute for currency. Both Tom and Butch were paying Jerry for bottles of the hair growing juice by giving him various food in exchange.
