A Kick in the Tail is the 72nd episode in The Tom and Jerry Show (2014)
Synopsis[]
Tuffy wants to learn how to play football, so Jerry teaches him to play.
Plot[]
Jerry and Tuffy are in their mousehole watching a soccer match on a smartphone. One player fouls another player so that leads to a red card being handed out. Jerry drinks his lemonade and Tuffy crushes his crispy cheese ball. The penalty happens and it's a goal! This leads Tuffy to want to become a soccer football player.
The young grey mouse kicks a cheese ball on a bottle cork hitting a lamp (Jerry ducks as it was heading his direction), spilling the bag of cheese balls onto Jerry. Tuffy declares it was a goal. Jerry pokes his head out of the food and Tuffy asks his guardian if he can teach him how to be a soccer football player and Jerry nods as if to say, "Yes."
Tuffy picks up the football with his hands, but Jerry blows his whistle and shows him the rules on the paper-pad easel that says hands aren't allowed. So, Tuffy drops the footballs as Jerry shows him the parts he can only use such as legs, tummies and heads but no hands. Then, Tuffy does soccer flicks with his tail, which Jerry shrugs to that.
Next, Jerry shows Tuffy the 3 steps; dribbling, passing and juggling. To that, Tuffy juggles 3 soccer balls. Later, Jerry and Tuffy take the soccer lesson outside in the backyard along with a net sack of footballs. Jerry shows Tuffy the football pitch and kicks the football around the cones but when Tuffy tries to tackle, he bounces on the ball and falls on Jerry who then shows how to score a goal. Jerry kicks the first ball under the yellow hammock. Then Tuffy has a go but kicks the second ball which hits the hammock and Jerry gives a thumbs up. While Jerry keeps blows his whistle, Tuffy kicks more footballs to the hammock over and over but then, Tom gets up to see what was going on. As the mice kick their balls through the cones together, Tom sets a mousetrap and puts spare cones on it but it doesn't snap as Jerry and Tuffy dribble across it.
Tom picks up the mousetrap which snaps on his nose and he yelps in pain as Jerry and Tuffy laugh at him. However, Jerry dribbles into the fence wall tripping Tuffy to the ground and Tom laughs back at them. Then Tom goes into his special box to pull out of a super tiny red ball, bounces and throws it at the window which sends it flying high. Tom tries to cstch the red ball but it zooms right through his hand, bounces off the fence and into his mouth causing him to hit the side of the house and fall down. Tom spits out the ball which goes into Spike's mouth and bounces inside until the dog spits it out. Tom picks up the ball, presses and paints it into a soccer ball then sneakily swaps Tuffy's ball with it while he and Jerry weren't looking.
Tuffy picks the fake ball, kicks it from one leg to another, up to the branch, hit Jerry on the head and himself too as the ball flies into Tom's hand as he bounces it and laughs the mice's predicament as they walk away. Jerry sets up the net as the goal and Tuffy shoots one ball but misses. Then Jerry kicks another ball but the goal dodges it and the third ball which was kicked by Tuffy. Through the fence hole is Tom pulling the rope attached to the goal around while Jerry and Tuffy keep on shooting balls into it. On the other side of the fence, Tom continues with the charade while sipping on a glass of lemonade but something was not right as he keeps the rope so hard which revealed Spike's doghouse tied to it and falls right next to him.
Spike pops out of his doghouse with irritated look and knocks Tom into the hammock which lashes him from the hedges, tree to the ground in front of the mice who share a high five of turning the tables until Tom hits Jerry with one of the soccer balls and challenges them into a soccer match which they accept. Tuffy tells Tom he can't use his hands as he was about to pick up the ball so he uses his foot, kicks it up and down while switching front to back, then uses his ears and whiskers. Tuffy tells Jerry that maybe accepting Tom's challenge wasn't a good idea.
Tom rolls into the center while dribbling on the medium size football and shoots as Tuffy, swinging the shoe, deflects it which hits Tom in the face and crashes him into Spike's doghouse tearing it apart. Angered, Spike flips Tom up and slams him into the side house wall again.
Later, Tom rampages through the box, gets out another football, throws it and gets Jerry stuck to it then runs fast onto the field, shoots and hits the fence while Tuffy was in goal. Tom repeatedly kicks the ball with Jerry at the fence wall and draws it out how many points he's got which is 6. Then Tom pours oil on the tiny footballs, places them in the middle as he, Jerry and Tuffy stand on each sides. Tom lets Jerry get the first kick but he slips on the oil and the balls knocks him out. Tom chuckles as Jerry keeps slipping, but Tuffy kicks the ball into Tom's nose and gets the next laugh.
However, Tom paints the red paddle ball into a football, bounces it through the mice and into their goal so many times as he gives himself extra points until the mice cut the ball off with a pair scissors allowing Tuffy to kick the ball into Tom's goal under his legs. Then, Jerry and Tuffy kick different balls and shuttlecocks at Tom's side as he avoids them all earning the mice 11 points over him since he has 8 points. In order to catch up, Tom has a bowl of milk, adds bubble mixture, black paint drops then he dips the wand and blows football bubbles to float over Jerry and Tuffy knocking him down and guffaws. Jerry counters back by kicking Tom in the face with the real football. Tom grabs the ball, pumps a lot of air into it making a giant football ever with a pump. He then dribbles the huge football and kicks it which explodes and he crashes down on Spike's doghouse again after he just finished repairing it.
Spike chases Tom while whacking him in the rear with a piece of wood as Jerry and Tuffy kicks the three footballs in Tom's goal and Jerry tallies up the score which is still 11 points meaning they both win as the episode iris out. Well Done!
