Anger Mismanagement is an episode of the third season of The Tom and Jerry Show (2014).
Synopsis[]
Muscles tries to quell Spike and Tom's violence against each other.
Plot[]
Jerry the Mouse sprints out of his mouse hole and looks at the camera with a triumphant look before doing some stretches. He then goes inside and back outside to play and jump his skipping rope. Tom the Cat emerges from the cat flap seeing Jerry, then he grabs the skipping rope (with Jerry clinging on to it). Tom smirks at Jerry before he starts toying with him like a yo-yo. Spike the Bulldog (in his dog kennel) wakes up and rushes over to Tom. He taps him on the shoulder and when Tom notices, he hides Jerry behind his back. Spike asks Tom how many times he asks him to leave Jerry alone. Tom sticks up 3 fingers and Spike grabs him. Jerry flies out of Tom's hand and lands with a thump as he watches the dog attack the cat.
Spike walks over Tom and bends down so he can talk to Jerry, talking about how he loves to pulverize cats and describes all cats to be yellow bellied cowards of the lowest kind with no backbone whatsoever. Tom, insulted by Spike's words, gets up with a gradually redder face and kicks Spike in the air, resulting in the dog landing on the floor with a dizzy expression. He gets up and Tom pushes him before they have a fight in the form of a raging fight cloud. Innocent Jerry watches the fight cluelessly.
Ginger taps her foot before telling her pets to stop fighting. She also tells them to get along or else. Tom and Spike put their arms around each other and hug to make it look like they are being pals and Ginger, relieved, walks away. The dog and cat continue their fight now that the coast is clear again. Just then, Jerry's cousin Muscles, peeks through a hole in the fence before creating a mouse shaped hole through it. He smiles and comes over to shake Jerry's hand. Their reunion is interrupted by the Tom vs Spike fight cloud. Muscles comes into the fight cloud and stops the animals from attacking each other any further before telling them to stop fighting.
Muscles explains to the two of them that after his last knockout, he decided to stop doing violence. Then, he shows a book he wrote called "Pulverize Your Anger." He forces Tom and Spike to try the book, or else. Spike tries to shake Tom's hand, but ends up squeezing it, causing Tom's fingers to look deflated. Tom tries to get his revenge on Spike, but Muscles grabs him by the tail. Muscles decides to show Tom and Spike the first lesson of his book.
Lesson 1: Breathe before you heave.
Muscles, Tom, and Spike all take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. Tom and Spike start to feel a lot calmer after this. While Tom and Spike continue to breathe in and out, Jerry and Muscles decide to play a sophisticated game of chess.
Tom walks by with a glass of lemonade. He waves hi to Jerry and Muscles, but because he wasn't looking where he was going, he trips over Spike and the lemonade spills on Spike's face. Tom and Spike start to fight again, ruining the mice's chess game. Muscles marches over to them and shows them the second lesson.
Lesson 2: Snack before you smack.
Tom runs away and comes back with two candy apples, but instead of sharing them with Spike, he eats both of them leaving Spike with nothing. As a result, Spike grabs Tom by the tail and knocks his head on the grass many times, until Ginger arrives again. Tom and Spike are seen meditating together. She pats Tom on the head and tells the boys to "keep up the good work". When she leaves, Spike resumes what he was doing, until the candy apples fall out of Tom's mouth. Tom is about to fight back, until Muscles shows the third lesson.
Lesson 3: Bump before you thump. Dance that RAGE off to a little music.
Muscles grabs a little radio and plays club music. Spike and Tom dance together, until Tom changes the club music to jazz music. Spike swipes the radio from Tom's hands and changes it back to club music. Tom swipes the radio back and changes it back to jazz, while sticking his tongue out at Spike. They start fighting in the raging fight cloud form again. Their fighting causes the mice's chess game to get ruined again. Muscles grabs his book and shows Tom and Spike the fourth lesson (as Tom punches Spike in the face once more).
Lesson 4: Brush before you mush.
Tom and Spike were confused at first, until Jerry shows up with a hairbrush to tell them that they have to brush each other's fur. Spike and Tom refuse to at first, until Muscles threatens to pulverize them again. Spike hits Tom's head with the hairbrush at first, and then starts brushing Tom's hair in different ways. Jerry and Muscles shake hands and go back to their chess game once more. Tom takes the brush and starts brushing the back of Spike's head. Jerry facepalms and Muscles has an impressed look on his face. Tom then starts tickling Spike until they run over the chess pieces and mushroom seats. Muscles is ready to grab his hat, but it's missing. He finds his hat on the ground and notices that it's smashed. Tom tries to fix it, but he makes it even worse by ripping a hole in it. Muscles, fumed and literally red in the face, reads the fifth lesson before tearing his book apart.
Lesson 5: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
He pulverizes Tom and Spike offscreen as Jerry looks away. When Muscles is finally finished, he's ready to leave. He tells Jerry, "See you at my next match, cousin." Jerry waves goodbye as Muscles leaves while making another mouse shaped hole through the fence (this time, without his hat). Tom and Spike are seen beaten up. Ginger checks on them one last time and seems to think that they're hugging each other. She tells them that she's glad they finally decided to get along. Jerry looks by his mouse hole and sees the candy apples that Tom swallowed earlier. He pushes them into his mouse hole, waves goodbye to the viewer(s), and runs inside as the screen irises out. See you soon.

Notes[]
- The episode shares the same title as an episode of We Bear Bears (another Cartoon Network series) and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
- This is the first time that Tom struck back against Spike.
- This is the first time that Muscles has issues with Spike.
- This episode confirms that Muscles is stronger than Spike.
- Ironically, it is Muscles's fault because he never stepped out of the zone where Tom tickled and rolled Spike which means that his hat was broken, proving that he brought his own misery to himself.
