Baby Seal, also known as Sylvester Seal is a character who first appeared in the Tom and Jerry cartoon, Little Runaway. He has apperared in other Tom and Jerry series The Tom and Jerry Show (2014), Tom and Jerry in New York and the cancelled Tom and Jerry Time.

The Baby Seal is a young black seal, who's eyes are white, light-colored mouth, and flat flippers.
Personality[]
The Baby Seal is generally friendly towards others (especially to his friends) and also loves to aids them in situations. The baby seal favorite food to eat is fish. He hates the circus because of its people making him do circus tricks, such as blowing trumpets.

Little Runaway[]
The Baby Seal cuts himself out of his cage and sneaks into Tom and Jerry's house while the circus owners were alseep. The next morning, Jerry was about to dive in the pool headdown when the seal appeared under him. At first, Jerry runs away but the seal asks him for his help and explains why he ran away from the circus. Jerry accepts the seal's help and goes to get him some fish. After stealing Tom's fish, Jerry throws it in the pool but Tom retrieves until the seal quickly eats it while he wasn't looking.
The Seal saves Jerry by spinning Tom around with his nose and tosses him into the birdbath. Just then, the radio announces the seal's escape and the reward of $10,000 will get paid to anyone who can return him to the circus. After trying every failed attempt to catch the seal, Tom disguises himself as an adult seal using a tire and black rubber. So far, Tom's new plan was working like a charm but then a circus worker mistakes him as their seal and takes him to the circus while the real seal and Jerry watch Tom being seal-napped.

Trivia[]
- A similarly-looking seal named Flipper appears in one episode of The Ruff and Reddy Show from Hanna-Barbera Productions, as the same directors were involved anyways.
- He was going to appear in Tom and Jerry Time but for unknown reasons, the show was cancelled by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.
- He appeared on one of the Stroehmann bread end labels in the 1950's with the name, "Sylvester".
