William "Billy" Bletcher (September 24, 1894 - January 5, 1979) was an American actor is the voice of Spike from Tom and Jerry, before the character was officially and permanently named as "Spike" where he was succeeded by Patrick McGeehan, Jerry Mann, Bob Shamrock, John Brown, Stan Freberg and Daws Butler of the role in 1949. He was also best known as the original voice of Mickey Mouse's obese feline archnemesis, Pete from the Disney cartoons and the voice of the Big Bad Wolf from the 1933 Silly Symphonies short, "Three Little Pigs". and the voice of Papa Bear, The Crusher, Colonel Shuffle, Ham and Ex, and Evil Scientist. in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.
