Butch Isacc Cat is a Tom and Jerry character, he is a black and white alley cat that’s being a beneficial or harmful living thing to the one and only Tom Cat.
Bio
Butch is created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and he first appeared in the short, Baby Puss (1943), where he and his other peers named, Meathead - a red-haired, brown, mangy cat (some say he first appeared in the 1943 short, Sufferin' Cats), and a small gray kitten which no one really knows much about.
He is the leader of the Cat Bullies which knocks Tom down and a coarse rival to Tom as well. In the short, Springtime for Tom? (1946), he was known simply as "Dream Boy" (after Jerry's fake letter from Toodles), and he acted as Tom's rival for Toodles' affection.
Butch is not only a love rival to Tom, but a coarse opponent in simple competitions such as sports – for example in Tennis Chumps (some say Tom’s opponent there isn’t really Butch).
In “A Mouse in a House”, Butch did compete with Tom for the catching of Jerry. Unfortunately they both failed, making Jerry still the " untouchable one".
However, Butch also appeared in some cartoons as one of Tom's pals or chums as in Saturday Evening Puss, Smarty Cat, and Sleepy-Time Tom, where Butch is leader of Tom's buddies.
