CBS Broadcasting Inc., commonly shortened to CBS (the abbreviation of its former legal name Columbia Broadcasting System), is an American commercial broadcast television and radio network that is the flagship property of the CBS Entertainment Group division of Paramount Global.
Founded in January 1927 in Chicago, Illinois as United Independent Broadcasters, Inc.. Three months later, it becomes Columbia Phonographic Broadcasting System (CPBS) when Columbia Phonograph Company (the original parent company of Columbia Records) invested the company, then shortly in the same year, rebranded again as Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS).
CBS aired The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show from September 6, 1980 to September 4, 1982.
