Catching Some Z's is an episode of the third season of The Tom and Jerry Show (2014).
Synopsis[]
Tom is being chased by feline zombies, so he asks Jerry Van Mousling for help.
Plot[]
In a Gothic setting, Tom is being thrown from his house when night falls. Tom looks at the night sky and notices the moon having quite an evil facial expression, so the cat starts scratching the door. His attempt to get inside is thwarted by the house owner, who disposes trash on Tom. When the cat emerges from the trash, he heads forwards. The path leads him to a graveyard in the opposite side of the forest. When Tom stops at the graveyard's gate, he stares upwards at the sky and spots the bad moon once again.
After a brief moment, Tom watches through the gate and notices a terrifying scene - first, a cat's hand breaks the soil, then a long-dead cat emerges from his grave. The undead feline is accompanied by two more feline zombies - one male, who must had died being obese, and a much smaller one with ripped-off right hand, which was a female cat when she was alive. The revenants are heading toward the gate, when Tom stands frightened for a moment. When the cat zombies are close, Tom flees to the town while the undead are following him at their own pace.
At the township, Rutger, Rolf and Rudy are enjoying the night at the tavern with beverage similar to beer. Jerry Van Mousling sits nearby with a cup of tea and quite a large whey of cheese. He somehow predicts Tom stumbling upon him, thus he sets a plank to stop the cat. After catching breath and dealing with throat pain, Tom shows the zombies approaching to the town using gestures. The German Mice find him hilarious, while Jerry Van Mousling initially remains skeptical about the story. Disgruntled Tom points his finger at the direction he came from - it turns out that the animated cat bodies have already reached the town. The German Mice are panicking and flee the tavern in terror, only Tom and Jerry Van Mousling remain. Jerry grabs his whey of cheese and hurls it at the wandering undead. The monsters break to pieces, but it doesn't stop them for sure - once hitting the ground, the cat zombies patch themselves in in a rather clumsy way, then they continue the march.
Tom hides inside one of the alleys, behind a barrel. After looking around, the area seems clear. Tom's brief moment of relief is disturbed by the bulky zombie, who appeared from nowhere. Tom yells in fright and runs away, ripping the limb from the undead. After running for a while, Tom stops and notices the corpse's hand is still grasping his shoulder. He manages to remove the rotten arm from his shoulder, only to be slapped by the cadaver's limb. A quick fight erupts, when Tom manages to throw the zombie's limb on the ground, then he walks away only to stumble upon the first feline reverent, who rose from the grave. The monster has re-arranged his body basically just when he became re-animated, save for replacing his left arm with a tail. A fight erupts, where Tom tries to use a zombie hand against his undead opponent. The combat winds up with the latter disarming Tom, however, the hand keeps slapping his new owner, so Tom can escape.
Meanwhile, Jerry Van Mousling is patrolling another quadrant of the township. He encounters the female zombie and he lures her into the tavern. The undead runs into half-opened door, leaving her head on the upper part of the door. The headless body is easily tricked by Jerry Van Mousling, who causes his adversary to stumble a couple of times. Jerry Van Mousling flees from the tavern, as the she-reverent grabs her head from the door. Tom and Jerry Van Mousling meet themselves at the street, when the cold autumn wind is blowing. First, they spot the first zombie, who rose from the grave. The monster approaches holding his arm with tail-limb. The bulky feline zombie and their female companion approach from opposite streets, attempting to surround the protagonists. Jerry Van Mousling makes up an idea, when he spots a piano being lifted upwards using a rope. Two men are struggling with the instrument. One of them, named Heinrick, ties the rope to a pillar. When the men depart, the German mice set their positions on the rope. Jerry Van Mousling drops Tom the rope end to have it tied to his tail. At Jerry's signal, the younger mice untie the piano - just in time when Tom is almost surrounded by the zombies. The gravity works as intended - Tom is saved from the undead, who have the piano dropped on themselves as Tom remains hanged high by his tail.
The first re-animated corpse pushes his hand through the piano lid, plays a tune, then he withdraws his limb back to the piano. After a while, the piano's lid is force opened from inside and severed limbs, heads, and torsos of the walking feline corpses flee back to the direction they came from. Once the danger has passed away, Tom attempts to grab the mice with his tail still tied to the rope outside the building. He manages to lit the piano a bit above the ground, but the instrument turns out heavier than Tom. As a result, Tom is taken down to the ground by the gravity. Tom raises his head above the piano, as Jerry Van Mousling plays a tune on the keyboard. Tom's head falls inside the piano and the episode ends.
