Tom is a mascot aboard a cruise ship and is warned by the captain that Tom will be replaced if a mouse is found on board the ship. Jerry arrives and sees the ship that takes him to Hawaii, tries to board the ship unaware that the captain of the ship has no mice allowed to board the ship, but is kicked out by Tom and squashed by a coconut. "I think I'll should teach that bad cat a lesson, after I get this thing off my head." Jerry continues to board the ship unsuccessfully until boarding on the anchor of the ship. He then ties Tom's tail to a lifesaver ring and makes a fake call for help. Tom throws the ring and this results in himself being thrown off the ship.

Tom manages to get back on the ship anyhow, soaking wet and furious. Jerry slips up Tom as he passes by with a bar of soap and Tom salutes a passing captain as he is thrown off the ship. Tom emerges soaking wet once again onto the stern. Tom dives into the pool after seeing Jerry dive into it, but Jerry drains all the water out and thus causes Tom to crash on the floor into 10 pieces. Then Jerry dashes to the ship steam machine and pulls off the boiling water on the cat's fanny.

Jerry, successfully ridding Tom off the ship again, walks along the edge of the deck playing his ukulele, but Tom, now really furious, pokes his head up and Jerry flees into a theater where Texas Tom is being shown. When Jerry laughs at Tom, Tom is annoyed and throws Jerry off the ship and into the air, after reaching his highest point, a seagull catches Jerry, only to be swatted away when Jerry hits him with his ukulele. Jerry realists he's going to fall. Jerry lands on the mast, falls into a vent, and drops into a food serving tray.

The captain praises Tom for keeping mice off the ship until the food is served and then much to Tom's horror, it turns out to be the tray Jerry fell into. Tom was thrown into the ship brig and watches after some sea water splash onto his face just as Jerry surfs to the coast of Hawaii.

  • During the footage scene, stock footage of Texas Tom is used here.
  • Tom talks in the cartoon, he says "Help! God! Let me out...", this was one of the few times Tom got shouted and trapped inside the booby-hatch.
  • The first cartoon to take place in the Hawaii.
  • Some aspects in the episode would be used in later cartoons such as Calypso Cat and Puss 'n' Boats.
    • In Calypso Cat, Jerry also gets in the ship the same way.
  • Tom's sailor scout outfit has also appeared in Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers.
