Overview

"DJ Jerry" is an episode from the second season of Tom and Jerry Tales.

Synopsis[]

When a record store owner leaves Tom to keep his store safe, the cat finds Jerry scratch DJing and hosting a hip hop night club below the store.

Plot[]

At the record store, Tom is sleeping and the record store owner closes the record store for the night and tells him he's in charge now. Then, he picks Tom up and tells him to make sure nothing happens to his record store. Tom salutes to that command and does fight moves. Soon, the owner pats Tom on his head, turns off the light, leaves and tells the cat he'll see him in the morning. Tom hops on the record counter and goes back to sleep.

Suddenly, Tom hears music and he uses the stethoscope to listen against the wall. Outside the record store, Spike is letting the mice come to the Hole in the Wall. He opens the door for the mice to come in. Some pigeons are about to enter until Spike denies their entry because it's for mice only. He forms the pigeons into a ball and throws them far away.

Tom has discovered that Jerry is scratch DJing and hosting a hip hop night club under the store. So, Tom uses the ratchet to drill the hole, causing the music blast to him. He peeks through the hole and sees Jerry DJing, so he uses the boots to stomp until the mice stop dancing and they ask him what happened to the music. Jerry scratches the record to start the music back up, while the mice start dancing, which angers Tom. Jerry puts the disk away in the box and takes another disk from the box and he starts scratching DJing while Tom uses the plunger to take Jerry's box of records. When Jerry notices the box of records is missing, he looks up and sees the hole.

Jerry comes up to the hole and tries to take it back to the club, but finds Tom with a mallet, who tries to hit Jerry with it. Tom finds Jerry on the cash register machine, who presses the button that causes the drawer to go through Tom's mouth, making the cash fly everywhere. Tom pulls the drawer out of his mouth, and continues to chase Jerry with the mallet, causing massive destruction in the store. Jerry grabs the box of records and kicks it into the mouse hole. Tom smacks the mouse hole with the mallet, causing the head of the mallet to come off and land onto his foot. Jerry brings the box of records back to the club and starts scratch DJing while the mice start dancing again. After his efforts fail, Tom disguises himself as a rat to take revenge on Jerry, but Spike asks him to show the ID.

Tom hands over the fake ID, which has a photo of him as a rat. Spike lets him enter the club. Tom goes inside to take revenge on Jerry. He goes on to the dance floor, knocking some mice like a bowling ball hitting bowling pins. Tom starts dancing, until Tuffy and Cherie confronts Tom for disgusting his sneakers. Tom’s mask falls off, revealing his true identity to the mice, who run away from Tom who grabs and tries to eat Tuffy. But then the rat bouncers stop and tell him that no cats are allowed in the club. They then proceed to attack Tom and kick him out of the club as Jerry scratches some music beats and Tom crashes through the wall.

The owner returns the next morning to see his store ruined. Outraged, he kicks Tom out of the store. Tom hits the lamppost and lands into a trash can afterwards. After cleaning up his record store during the day, the owner hires Spike to guard the store. He pats Spike on his head and leaves. Spike gives a box of records to Jerry, who starts beat-boxing and dancing while Spike joins him, ending the episode.
