The Alley Cats are minor antagonists from Tom and Jerry: The Movie. They are a gang of mean alley cats who ambushes Tom at Puggsy's home, until Jerry saves him. The leader named Big Arnold is voiced by Raymond McLeod who also voiced the Bulldog in the beginning of the film while the rest are voiced by Mitchel D. Moore and Scott Wojahn.

Information[]

Tom and Jerry: The Movie []

The Alley Cats are first seen after Puggsy and Frankie DaFlea get captured by the Straycatchers led by Dr. Applecheeks, confronting Tom saying to him that Puggsy's home is their territory, before they sing the "What do we care?" song. After they finish singing, Tom attempts to sneaks away and one of them notices him escaping and they give chase knocking the flower pot down where Jerry is being held earlier by Tom, who then makes a run to a nearby manhole. As Tom passes the manhole, Jerry opens it and all of the Alley Cats fall into the sewer one by one saving Tom from further beating. The Alley Cats are not seen afterwards and it is unknown what happened to them, presumed they gave up after this and are not seen for the rest of the film, then Tom and Jerry meet Robyn Starling in the nearby bridge.

Trivia[]

  • The other two alley cats are unvoiced, but their singing voice is heard during the song "What Do We Care? (The Alley Cats Song)" but uncredited.
  • The alley cats in this film are similar to The Alley Cat Gang that appear in The Tom and Jerry Show (1975) episode "The Police Kitten".
  • It is unconfirmed that the Alley Cats feared Puggsy and never kicked him out as he was a dog (even the Big Alley cat could overpower him) and they resolved to enter his Alley once Puggsy and Frankie Da Flea had been captured by The Straycatchers.
    • Most likely neither of the Alley Cats would be afraid of Puggsy because he's too nice and cat friendly and tolerant yet they probably wouldn't take a chance likely because Puggsy may be a lot tougher than he appeared that he's not afraid any of them either.
