Melvin Jermone "Mel" Blanc (born, Blank, May 30, 1908 – July 10, 1989) voiced characters in the Chuck Jones era shorts. He was known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices". He is best known for voicing Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera characters during his career, as well as multiple characters in The Jack Benny Program. Prior to the Jones era shorts, his sound recordings for the Wolf in the 1942 Hugh Harman short The Hungry Wolf were used in The Milky Waif, Slicked-up Pup, Just Ducky, Puppy Tale, and Pup on a Picnic.
