Fluff, Muff, and Puff are a trio of triplet kittens that first appeared in the Tom and Jerry cartoon Heavenly Puss, as adorable kittens in a minor role. They later appeared as antagonists in Triplet Trouble.

Characteristics[]

Personality[]

At first, they appear innocent, but beneath their charming facade lies a manipulative and deceitful nature. These mischievous little kittens quickly transform into cunning troublemakers who revel in causing chaos and harm to others. They often lead others to their dark side while pretending to be sweet and harmless; for example, they may nuzzle Tom affectionately while secretly orchestrating their schemes.

However, their behavior isn't entirely consistent. Occasionally, they do show genuine innocence and can be cooperative, making it difficult for others to discern their true intentions.

Physical description(s)[]

Fluff has sandy blonde fur, Muff has black fur similar to Butch, and Puff is the kitten whose orange fur is similar to Lightning. Without watching their fur colors, they all look like Topsy and are around the same size as him.

History[]

Tom and Jerry cartoons[]

Fluff, Muff, and Puff made their debut in at least two Tom and Jerry shorts. They first appeared in Heavenly Puss, where they played minor roles as kittens who had drowned and are granted access to heaven by the Gatekeeper.

Their next appearance was in Triplet Trouble, where they took on a more prominent role as antagonists, creating chaos and mischief for both Tom and Jerry. Ultimately, however, their antics backfire, leading Tom and Jerry to join forces to effectively discipline the three mischievous kittens.

Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale[]

Fluff, Muff, and Puff return, where they are cat soldiers led by King Cat's Army.

The Tom and Jerry Show (2014)[]

Fluff, Muff, and Puff made several appearances in the series, with their first appearance in the episode One of a Kind. Although they generally play minor roles, they take on a more prominent role in Knighty Knight Knight, where they serve as the episode's antagonists, behaving similarly to their portrayal in Triplet Trouble, but this time as mischievous demon kittens.

Other Appearances[]

They appeared in the 2005 online game, Food Fight where Muff and Puff serve as enemies (alongside Tom).

Trivia[]

  • There are some episodes where they are innocent like Heavenly Puss, but there are episodes where they are rebellious like Triplet Trouble.
  • The kittens are possibly inspired by Fluffy, Muffy, and Tuffy, a trio of kittens who appeared in a few Disney cartoons in the 1930s.
  • There are another set of triplet kittens in The Tom and Jerry Show (2014) episode, Turn About who look about similar to Fluff, Muff and Puff, except they're two girls and one boy and they're the younger siblings of Toots. Like Fluff, Muff, and Puff, they caused trouble, chaos and mischief, except their victim is Butch, instead of Tom or Jerry when Butch accidentally agreed to babysit them while Toots goes out shopping with their mother. They quickly grew to hate Butch and caused so much trouble for him like Fluff, Muff and Puff he quickly grow to hate Tom.
    • Fluff, Muff, and Puff later appeared in future episodes of The Tom and Jerry Show (2014), while Toots' younger siblings were one-time characters.
