Ghosts of a Chance is the eighth episode of The Tom and Jerry Show (2014).
Synopsis[]
Jerry causes Tom to lose eight out of his nine lives. Tom uses magic to bring them back, and instead is stuck with eight annoying ghost versions of himself.
Plot[]
At the witch house, Hildie and Beatie told Tom they are leaving now and want no cat and mouse stuff and they fly away on their magic brooms and leave the house for the night. After having his fingers crossed, Tom looks at the window, waves goodbye to the witches and sees them fly away so Tom run around the house causing all the candles to blow out while he is chasing Jerry around the house causing Tom trip over the chair and he crashes into the broom stand so he puts the brooms away in the broom stand but then he gets an idea and uses one of them to catch Jerry.
But when Tom jumps on the magic broom, he falls off then tries again by going slowly, patting it and still has trouble controlling it and he falls off again so the broom spank him and jumps on the broom so he has a trouble controlling it so the broom drags Tom while he has trouble controlling it while Jerry giggles causing the broom fly itself while Tom grabs the broom but Jerry run away while the broom fly itself so the spider finishes making a web until Tom crashes through the spider web causing the spider scream but he is very angry at him for destroying his web.
Jerry run upstairs while Tom tries to control the broom so he hops onto the broom but Jerry goes up the ladder until Tom goes to the attic and chases Jerry while he is flying on the broom but he crashes onto the roof causing Tom fur to come off from the sewing machine and he look himself naked but the sewing machine sews Tom's skin until Tom grabs the skin and continuse to chase Jerry so Jerry goes up the hole until Tom goes into the stovepipe and stuck himself while Jerry giggles but Tom loses control of his rage causing the top of stovepipe come off but Tom falls off the hole and he get up and grab the broom and ride but on top of the roof Jerry hears anything but he runs away.
Tom continues to ride on the broom as the spider finishes redoing a web until Tom crashes through the spider web causing the spider scream making him is very angry about it. So Jerry use the rope and lassos the chimney and hops onto the roof and make the trap but Jerry hears anything until Tom crashes through the door but the rope ties onto the broom causing the chimney breaks and Tom to slip off the broom but the broom keeps flying until Jerry hops onto the broom and runs until he jumps off the broom and land on the roof and see Tom up in the sky but Tom looks down but Tom tries to fly by flapping his arms like a bird but he lands himself on the ground causing Jerry covers his eyes. Tom comes out the hole but the Life 6 appears and talk to him but Tom shoos the Life 6 but the Life 6 tell him only got 3 left and light out but Life 6 uses the fist and hit onto Tom head so Tom shoos the Life 6 but the Life 6 goes up into the sky and disappears so the broom flies itself but Tom comes out from the hole and dusting himself but the chimney hit him and Tom goes into the hole but the Life 7 appears but Tom tries to come out from the hole but the chimney hit him again and Life 8 appears but Life 7 talks to Life 8 but Tom shook his head but the Life 7 and 8 goes up into the sky but Tom grab the Life 8 tail to come out from the hole but he let go of Life 8 tail and Life 8 tells him to watch yourself so Life 6 and Life 7 comes down and warns him. Then Life 6, 7 and 8 goes up in the sky. Tom is about to get out from the hole and he sees to the right side untils he goes back into the hole and the broom flies itself but Tom appears from his hole until Jerry tiptoes to him and he pull Tom whiskers causing Tom to scream and he is very and angry and he is about to attack until Jerry show the sign to him and he points it which is Tom has eight lives gone and one more live to go but Tom gulps in fear and Jerry tosses the sign away and he shake his butt and tiptoes backwards.
Later, Tom sneaks back in the house while looking both ways when he shrieks at the fireplace turning red flames, the potions with skull and crossbones, the chandelier was about to collapse on him but he avoids and dashes upstairs when Jerry stops him and gestures shows him the banana peel. Relived, Tom gives Jerry a thumbs up but he crashes down on the stairs but luckily he gives another thumbs up to say "I'm okay!". Jerry returns the thumb up as Tom presses his head down. Tom yawns and lies down on his pillow to rest, Jerry sneaks up behind and kicks him in the rear Tom stops himself and remembered what his Lives said about having one life. With that, Jerry stretches, takes over Tom's bed and sleeps while snoring. Tom shrugs and sadly sleeps over to the bookshelves until he pulls out so many magic books creating a huge mountain and a mess too. Tom uses the first book which shows the page saying "Ghost of chance" with the first ingredient he needs starting with a spider web. A fly was about to fly into the Spider's web until Tom grabs it off making him pout. For the next ingredinets, Tom pulls off his own whisker making him scream in pain, pinches off the toad's wart off which he grows another one.
Finally, Tom has all 3 ingredients in the cauldron, stirs it up with his spoon but nothing happened until he gets punched in the face and his tongue pulled by Life 8 who said it was for costing him his life but he kisses Tom for bringing him back. Tom puts Life 8 inside his body but he said there is no do-overs and they plan to getting Jerry back for costing them their lives and shake on it.
The plate of cheese is on the table and its scent draws Jerry over to it. Jerry was about to dig in when Life 8 pops out turning the mouse pale and roars at him and Tom howls at Jerry on the other side of the table surrounding him. However, Jerry blasts pepper at Tom who sneezes blowing Life 8 away while he gets the cheese but Life 8, holding a rolling pin, blocks his way and bops Tom by mistake. Life 8 goes through the wall sneaking up next to Jerry who screams. Life 8 grabs Jerry but as he fades out of the wall, he loses the mouse and Tom was not happy. Life 8 reaches out through the hole with his hand and brings out a clock bomb mouse which Jerry handed to him. Life 8 gives Tom the clock mouse doll which ticks, rings and explodes as Jerry laughs. Life 8 was all in pieces until he puts himself together and has a new idea saying more cats are better than two and Tom agrees as his hand falls off.
Now The remaing Lives are all created and Live 8 takes control of the group and tells them his plan; when Jerry goes for the cheese, they go for and eat him which they approved and high five one another. All Cats split up ready to strike as Jerry gets drawn to the cheese again, takes it and hides under the chair but Life 8 chases him to the fireplace and the rest of Lives surround the mouse too. However, Jerry uses the bellows to suck all the Lives in it (One of the lives scratches against the floor in hope of releasing himself from being sucked up.). All of the lives emerge from the fireplace after Jerry tosses the bellows in it. Jerry runs away with the cheese only to be caught by Tom until his lives attack them both creating a fight cloud. Tom runs out with Jerry but Live 5 stops him with a frying pan and takes the mouse running pass Life 6who sneakily grabs Jerry and waves cheekily. However, Life 7 knocks Life 6 out with the rolling pin, takes Jerry and eats him but the mouse just falls through him. Live 6 has a go at eating Jerry then Life 2 and Life 5 but the mouse kept falling through them all.
Life 6 asked what's the fun if they can't eat Jerry and All the lives decided they still got each other and give up much to Tom's disappointment. All of the Lives are having the party of the lifetime together dancing and making music but Tom and Jerry were having trouble sleeping with all the noise. Tom has put sticky tape on his eyes but they rip off showing "Do Not Disturb" so he sticks a pillow through his ears and walks over to Jerry who also did the same and they both put up the lives until the magic spellbook falls on Tom's head and floor. Seeing this, Tom and Jerry develop an idea and creates something in a electricity and thunder flash.
All the lives are now chased out of the house and up in the sky by the Three Headed Dogs. Watching them all run away, Tom and Jerry shake hands when the magic broom still attached to the chimmey flies pass and knocked them out. The Spider writes "THE END" on his web and presented it to the viewers as an episode ends.

- The Ghost Cats are similar to the Tom and Jerry Mouse Maze Game.
- Cats have nine lives not eight but in this episode, Tom's 9th life didn’t make a comeback from Fraidy Cat.
- Butch appears in the witches' spellbook that Tom was reading.
- When the witches were flying on their broomsticks, silhouettes of their heads were shown.
