Here Kite-y Kite-y is the sixth episode in Tom and Jerry in New York.
Synopsis[]
Jerry and Tuffy get their revenge on Tom when he destroyed their sand castle while flying a kite trying to impress Toodles.
Plot[]
Tom is flying a custom kite, made of four sticks, two red material pieces, and a cord. Each flying surface has a cat head in a heart painted - the left one shows Tom's head, the right one - Toodles's one. At the same time, Toodles is reading a book nearby. The wind seems too strong for Tom, since he has trouble in keeping the control upon the kite. In order to avoid embarrassing himself in Toodles's eyes, Tom pretends himself to be exercising while flying the kite. His girlfriend believes in the deception, until Tom is taken by the wind.
At the same time, Jerry and his best friend Tuffy are building a sand castle in a sandbox. The construction doesn't last for long, for Tom pulls it down while being dragged by the winds taking over his kite. The mice emerge from the sand. While Tuffy is complaining about the harm Tom has done to them, the cat is enjoying the wind dragging him with the kite around the park. Jerry attempts to focus Tom's attention, without success - the cat breaks their sand tower in flight. Tuffy is crying and Jerry shows off his exasperation, while Tom is having fun.
The mice spot a man, who is testing a flying drone nearby. Having found an inspiration, Jerry climbs the drone stall and takes one remote, which is passed to Tuffy. The rodents obtain one drone with a fitting pilot, then they prepare an ambush for Tom, who is doing his best to impress Toodles with his acrobatic skills. The drone interrupts Tom and Toodles kissing, which causes Tom to fly away and get a couple of painful bruises around the park. However, one of the trees is also decorated for Christmas during the process. The drone leads the kite to the city center crossroads, where Tom lands before a taxi cab standing on red light. The brief moment of relief passes quickly, as the lights turn green and Tom gets driven over flat and dragged away by the drone.
Jerry and Tuffy are having fun with tormenting Tom - they lead the drone to the playground, where the cat is consecutively hit by the climbing ladders. Toodles keeps reading the book and turns around for a moment, not paying much attention to the harm Tom is suffering from Jerry operating the drone. After being sent to the bottom of the pond, the drone takes Tom high in the skies, where Tom avoids a crash with a passenger plane only to hit a tree, where a squirrel is gathering acorns. The rodent gets upset, that Tom causes all the acorns to fall from the tree, much to Jerry's joy. The drone takes Tom and his kite away under the squirrel's volley of spitted acorns.
Back high in the skies, a storm comes upon New York, brining rain and thunderclaps. Tom gets frightened, Toodles has to withdraw home in the rain, and the mice experience the remote control malfunction. The bad weather violently brings Tom back to the ground, as the kite Tom was handling drags Jerry and Tuffy with itself and takes away unprotected objects in the park. Tom and the mice hit the same squirrel tree again, causing the acorns to fall down. The outraged squirrel calls its relatives for help and the park rodents push away Tom, Jerry and Tuffy to the pond with their acorn barrage. The episode ends with the three animals hiding at the bottom of the pond.
