"Invasion of the Body Slammers" is the first segment of the 18th episode of Season 2 of Tom and Jerry Tales, which premiered on October 27th, 2007. It is the fifty-second episode overall in the series. It was directed by TJ House, written by Christoper Painter and storyboard by Neal Sternecky, Nondas Korodimos and Akis Dimitrakopoulos.
Synopsis[]
A green, shapeshifting alien emerges from an alien spaceship that lands near Tom and Jerry's house.
Plot[]
A mysterious space ship lands on the garden next to Tom's, Jerry's and Mrs. Two Shoes' home. Jerry hears the crash and goes to check it out. A mysterious shape-shifting blob appears and becomes Jerry's double. Tom wakes up and tries to get the faux Jerry. After discovering the spaceship outside, Tom then tries to wake up Mrs. Two Shoes and tell her, but she instead throws him out of her room and back downstairs again. Tom becomes scared. The blob then becomes Mrs. Two Shoes' and Tom's double one at a time. Tom runs away to the space ship. Jerry joins Tom and both animals fly into outer space. Mrs. Two-Shoes angrily berates "Tom", who grins creepily. The blob rather looks like a John K. design, particularly when smiling.

- This episode has strong references to Courage the Cowardly Dog.
- This episode, alongside "Monster Con" and "Over the River and Boo the Woods," was released 4 days before Halloween.
- The episode's title itself is a pun on the 1956 sci-Fi horror movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", which it based on the 1954 Jack Finney novel, The Body Snatchers and made three remakes in 1978, 1993 and 2007.
- This episode inspired the idea of the game mode called "Aliens!" in Tom and Jerry Chase.
- The scenes from the episode were used for cutscenes of "Aliens!".
- The scene where the blob (masquerading as Jerry) flashes a sinister grin become an internet meme in pop culture.
Errors[]
- When the blob transforms into Jerry, the spaceship appears to be closed. It is possible that it closed shortly after the blob exited it.
- In the shot after the faux Jerry starts taking the food from the kitchen to Jerry after throwing Tom, the food shrinks in size.
- The inside of Tom's left ear is grey when he clings onto Ms. Two Shoes with the bedsheets on her.
