"Jungle Love" is an episode of Tom and Jerry Tales.
Synopsis[]
Jerry is being protected from Tom by a baby rhinoceros, while at the same time a male python literally develops a crush on Tom, mistaking his tail for a lady python.
Plot[]
In the vast savanna of Africa, Tom, cunning wild cat relentlessly chases after mouse Jerry. During the pursuit, Tom crashes into a log and, in frustration, retrieves a spear to poke at Jerry hiding inside. Quick-witted Jerry climbs the spear and playfully pulls one of Tom’s whiskers, provoking Tom's anger.
As Jerry jumps off the spear and escapes, he inadvertently attracts the attention of a baby rhinoceros, who playfully pokes him from behind. Jerry notices the rhinoceros has a splinter lodged in its hoof and, in a display of kindness, helps to remove it. The rhinoceros, feeling relieved, expresses gratitude by enthusiastically licking Jerry, forming a friendship between them.
Suddenly, Tom pokes Jerry with the spear again, prompting Jerry to run away. The rhinoceros, angered by Tom's behavior, charges at him, knocking Tom off balance. Jerry hops onto the rhinoceros, and they flee together. In the chaos, Tom grabs the spear and continues his pursuit but accidentally sets himself on fire.
The chase leads them to a rocky area, where Tom struggles to keep up. Eventually, they slide down into an area resembling the Elephant Graveyard from Disney's The Lion King. As they navigate through this environment, Jerry lands on the rhinoceros's head while they explore. Tom, determined to find Jerry, arrives at the graveyard, leading to a moment of surprise when he accidentally breaks a bone with his spear.
Jerry finds himself hiding among some bones, but Tom discovers him and attempts to corner him with the spear. After a close call, Jerry manages to escape and hides behind a boulder to catch his breath. Just then, the rhinoceros intervenes, grabbing Tom and allowing Jerry to ride on its back. They inadvertently cause bones to shift, forming a makeshift cage around Tom.
After celebrating their teamwork with a high-five, Jerry and the rhinoceros approach a cliff. Jerry hesitates at the sight of an overpass bridge but is determined to escape Tom's grasp. Meanwhile, a python stealthily approaches Tom, mistaking his tail for a potential mate and fantasizing about an encounter.
As Tom continues to chase Jerry, he leaps onto the rhinoceros. However, when the rhinoceros trips over a plank, both Jerry and the rhinoceros lose their balance, causing the bridge to bend precariously. Tom attempts to secure the bridge by tying the python's tail, which inadvertently loosens the ropes, leading to a dramatic moment where Tom falls off the cliff into a river below, landing among leeches.
As the story shifts to the jungle, Jerry and the rhinoceros enjoy some fruit when Tom swings through the vines and captures Jerry with his foot. However, a crash into a tree causes Tom to release Jerry, who lands safely on the ground.
The chase continues, but Tom finds himself sinking into quicksand. The python lowers its tail to help him, but the encounter becomes comical as Tom struggles with the python’s affections. In the end, Jerry and the baby rhinoceros resume their peaceful day in the jungle, enjoying fruit while observing the humorous situation between Tom and the python, concluding the episode on a lighthearted note.
