King Spike the First and Last is the forty-eighth episode of Tom and Jerry in New York.
Synopsis[]
Spike fancies himself a Canine King, holding court until Tom and Jerry revolt!
Plot[]
One night, Spike reads Tyke a bedtime story of a mighty king, Tyke falls asleep, Spike continues to read and see pictures from a book if which the royal treatment that kings receive, he wished to relieve those day. Suddenly, Tom and Jerry's causes some pages to be removed from the book. After causing some destruction around the lobby, they both crash into Spike's chest, who is tired of their racket, and then declares himself as the king of his castle. Tom and Jerry will have to obey him, as their first order to bow and then give Spike a cape and king, which was a purple sheet and a tropical plant with it looking good for him. Spike becomes hungry, and he is served a feast in a table as he requests after dinner entertainment, which he chooses is jousting. For jousting, Tom and Jerry will balancing in bowling balls, with Tom wearing a colander in his head and holding a broom and Jerry wearing a teacup and holding a pool stick. They joust, at first they missed a few times that doesn't amuse Spike. finally Jerry had joys weapon on Tom's bowling ball and launched into the season to back to Tom.
Spike requests them to give them a ride in the king's carriage, with Tom pushing the carriage, and Jerry throwing roses, with one of the guest seeing them pass by. A female dog named Gigi looks at Spike in an admiring way before her owner tells her not to get any idea, as they continue to strolling by, as Spike wants to sleep in the royal bed (which is the lobby). Tom and Jerry feather dust Spike before sleeping with him in his bed. Spike, unhappy with this, throws Tom and Jerry outside the back alley. Tom and Jerry then cry, which wakes Butch from the dumpster, who then asks for an explanation of the ruckus. After Tom tells Butch that Spike thinks he is a king, Butch tells them they should go for the psyche as they form their plan.
Butch and Tom move a step chair close to a sleeping Spike. Tom and Jerry give Butch a white sheet to look like a ghost of his father, with a fan making the wind as a visual effect. Butch tries to convince Spike as he is sleeping. He tells him that he is father King Rex and tell that he should be back to normal and leave Tom, Jerry, and Butch himself, as Spike declines because they are causing trouble; however, Butch tells Spike that he would be happy. Eventually, Butch loses his balance and falls on Spike, waking him up. Spike then comes to realization that Butch is not his father as his father is living in Tampa Bay. Butch tries to convince Spike that he is dreaming when that didn't work, and he flees out of the scene. Enraged, Spike slowly comes close to Tom and Jerry. Jerry blows the make up on Spike, and the chase between the trio begin. Tom and Jerry are cornered by Spike slowly approaching. Just before Spike can beat them up, he hears Tyke barking and looks at himself in the mirror. Spike explains to his son that he was helping his pals exercise, then quits being a king and they both go to sleep, as Tom and Jerry sigh in relief. All four of them sleep together in Spike's bed, as Butch says "And they all live happily ever after, especially me." as he enjoys a feast on the counter.
