Mauricio is a male octopus who first appeared in Dangerous When Wet during a animated sequence. He reappears in Tom and Jerry Tales episode "Octo Suave". He keeps on trying to get Tom to marry him (Tom looked like a mermaid at that time) and finally succeeds.

- Mauricio bears a striking resemblance to the Octopus in the Tom and Jerry sequence featured in the film Dangerous When Wet, and may be either be based on that character or is the same one.
- Mauricio (here named Oscar) and Fifi the Fish were going to star in the new MGM cartoon series, but it never come to fruition.[1]
