MultiVersus was released for beta on August 15, 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC with cross-play support. The full game was released on May 28, 2024. Pre-registration for the next tests is available now on MultiVersus.com.

Tom and Jerry's Variants[]
- Pirates: This Variant is based off of Tom & Jerry's pirate outfits from the 2006 direct-to-video movie Tom and Jerry: Shiver Me Whiskers. Jerry's "captain" outfit, in particular, comes from the very end of the movie.
- Detectives: This Variant is based off of Tom & Jerry's outfits from the Detective segments of 2014's The Tom and Jerry Show.
- Vampire: This Variant takes inspiration from two episodes of The Tom and Jerry Show. Tom's design draws from the season 3 episode "Vampire State" while Jerry's design originates from the season 1 episode "Vampire Mouse".
- Baker Street: This Variant based off of Tom & Jerry's 19th Century London outfits from the 2010 direct-to-video crossover movie Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes. Jerry's outfit is also a direct reference to the aforementioned Sherlock Holmes, while Tom's outfit references Dr. Watson, Sherlock's trustworthy assistant and best friend. The name of this Variant also references the name of the street Sherlock and Watson lived on, Baker Street.
- Texas: This Variant based off of Tom & Jerry's wild west attires taken straight out of 1950's Tom and Jerry short Texas Tom.

Trivia[]
- Two Tom and Jerry memes were featured in this game as part of Tom's standalone animations, those are the Shrugging Tom and the Tom Crossed Arms memes (see gallery).
- Tom and Jerry's gameplay resembles the one from Olimar/Alph from the Pikmin series in every Super Smash Bros. installment starting from Brawl (Olimar's Smash debut game) due to the fact both Jerry and the Pikmins can die and respawn after a certain amount of time, leaving Tom and Olimar/Alph to fight by themselves.
- This was the first Tom & Jerry game to be T-rated since Tom & Jerry in War of the Whiskers.
