(Tom is chasing Jerry down the street. They stumble upon grocery stand, where they cause significant mess.)

Tom: *Growls* (Jazzy music is playing, while Tom chases Jerry to the subway and has to run. The cat falls on the pavement.)

Crowd: *Chattering* (The people walking by stomp Tom. He emerges with difficulties, while Jerry reaches the ground level through a manhole. He waves at Tom.)

Tom: *Inflates himself* *Coughs*

(Tom goes after Jerry, but he gets stopped by a worker, who unwillingly blocks him. Tom falls with a clang and moves on. The scenery changes to a museum, which is locked for the night. The guard doesn't spot the animals slipping past.)

Museum Guard: *Yelps*

(The animals are running around the museum corridor. Calm music plays while they move past American Mid-West scenery. The tune changes to fiddle, when Tom gets pinned by an artificial goat. Jerry runs to the tropical Savannah exhibit. Dramatic music plays, as Tom is running in Jerry's direction. The mouse hides inside the elephant's trunk. )

Chapman: Aaaach-CHOO! (The real elephant sneezes Jerry away.) Sorry about that! *Chuckles* I have a problem with things crawling up my nose. My name is Chapman. I bet you're wondering what I'm doing here. (Jerry nods his head.) I'm a sleepwalker. Last thing I remember, I was trying to keep my eyes open. (The screen shows Chapman fighting with need for slumber. He eventually snores and walks while sleeping.) The next thing I know, angry drivers started honking at me. (Chapman wakes on the crossroads, surrounded by cars. Drivers honk at him.) So I hid in the museum. (Chapman moves to the back door of the museum.) I snuck in the back door.

Jerry: *Gasps*

Chapman: "Wow" is right! I survived by snatching food from the vending machine. (Chapman grabs the machine with his trunk and eats peanuts from it.) I really like the packaged peanuts. (Tom approaches the exhibit. Chapman pretends being an effigy. After looking around, Tom buys himself packaged peanuts. Chapman can't resist and stomps Jerry while moving to grab the peanuts. Tom notices the peanuts do not come to his mouth. Chapman drains the package from its content. Tom spots an elephant trunk, then its owner. )

Tom: *Screams* (Tom flees in terror. Jerry slides using Chapman's trunk and feeds him with peanuts. Chapman leaps, crushing the vending machine. Jerry guides Chapman with peanuts. At the same time, Tom stumbles upon Rosie the museum guard.)

Rosie: Huh? What? How did you get in here?! Now visitors after hours. How dare you disturb my nap! (Tom shakes his head and shows gestures. He also stomps and strikes silly facial expressions.) Something big? (Tom keeps gesturing.) And he has big ears?

Tom: *Imitates trumpeting en elephant trunk*

Rosie: Somethin' big with big ears and a smelly armpit? (Tom shows a shadow of an elephant.) An elephant?

Tom: *Nods his head*

Rosie: Hmm... Big deal. You saw the elephant display over in D wing. (Tom gets upset and kicks Rosie's stool.) Ow! What is your problem? (Tom flees and Rosie follows him to the exhibit.) How dare you pull me away from my post!? (Tom shows that the exhibit.) So it's gone. It's probably being re-stitched or somethin'. Give me three good reasons why I shouldn't toss you out on the street!

Tom: *Points at the floor* (Dramatic music is playing.) *Points at the crumpled vending machine* (Dramatic music is playing.) *Points at huge elephant-shaped hole in the wall*.

Rosie: Huh. Looks like we have a five-eleven in progress. If we follow these peanut shells, it might just lead us to the missin' pachyderm. (Rosie and Tom follow Chapman's path. In another part of the city, Jerry guides Chapman to the zoo.)

People: *Scream* (Chapman moves to the subway. Tom and Rosie follow the trail.) *Murmur*

Chapman: *Munching peanuts* (Jerry and Chapman make it to the zoo. Gates refuse to open.)

Jerry: *Whistles a lullaby* (Chapman falls into sleep.)

Chapman: *Snores*

(Chapman walks past the zoo wall. Jerry stops whistling and flees, for he spots Tom and Rosie following the peanut trail.)

Rosie: All right. This is where the trail ends. (Rosie attempts to open the gates, without success. Jerry at the same time makes sure that Chapman made it through. A zoo guard passes by and his cell phone rings.)

Zoo guard: Yeah, this is security. What do you want?

Rosie: Are you missing an elephant?

Zoo guard: Nope. Our elephant is present and accounted for. I'm looking at him right now. Thirteen thousand pounds with big ears and a trunk. Now, I'm gonna describe you - you're a nut! (The security guard turns off his phone and walks away. Jerry sneaks from a pillar.)

Chapman: *Snores*

Rosie: An elephant? I'll give you an elephant.

(Rosie hits Tom with her visor cap. Jerry is watching the scene happily in triumph. The fiddle is playing in the background. Rosie is chasing Tom around the city and keeps hitting him with her cap. The episode ends.)
