Philip Edward Hartman (born Hartmann, September 24, 1948 – May 28, 1998) was a Canadian–American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and graphic designer. He was the voice of Calaboose Cal from Tom & Jerry Kids and also the voice of Inspector Le Paw, an "one dog police posse" in the Kyle solo episode, Pound Hound. Other notable roles of Hartman include his impersonation of president Bill Clinton on Saturday Night Live, Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure from The Simpsons, and Bill McNeal from NewsRadio. In 1998, he was shot to death by his wife, Brynn Hartman, who later killed herself.
