It's the battle of the shoulder angels when pranks run amok on April Fool's Day.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Rick and Ginger playing a prank on each other (the former messes up the latter's coffee the latter, though we don't see it, made the tap looked like it has been fixed but the water sprays on the former), telling each other it's April Fools, much to Tom's dismay. Spike tells the viewers that April Fools Day is a day that Tom dreads, as seen through flashbacks as Tom falls for various pranks set by Jerry, such as opening an exploding can of tuna, following a laser dot into getting beaten up by Spike, and getting hosed while resting in a hammock. Tom sees laughing Jerry heads and rids them. Tom fears as Ginger and Rick leave the house when Jerry walks up to Tom with a truce: they will not pull any tricks on each other for the entirety of April Fools' day. They sign contracts, with Spike fully approves of. However, as soon as Jerry leaves with his contract, Tom's Shoulder Devil appears, telling Tom to be wary of the mouse, claiming he is up to something. Tom develops a case of paranoia as he sees a hose, a can of tuna, and a light on the wall, and decides to hide behind the sofa.
Meanwhile, Jerry's Shoulder Devil appears and reminds of Jerry of Tom's pranks on him, such as painting a rock to look like cheese, drawing a scary face on the mirror, and tying a balloon onto his leg to make him float away. Devil Jerry sees laughing Tom heads surround Jerry before shooing them off with his trident. Jerry at first shrugs it off but develops a case of paranoia as well as he sees a rock painted as cheese, a balloon, and a mirror with a marker next to it. The cat and mouse then run out the house and prepare to battle it out in the yard, when Spike reminds the duo of their truce, with their respective shoulder angels agreeing wholeheartedly. Spike forces them to go back into the house and come back with a peace offering for each other, so Jerry returns with a bottle of milk and Tom returns with a slice of cake. However, both their shoulder devils tell them that their offerings could be traps, so they hand their food over to Spike, who eats with nothing bad happening whatsoever.
Upset that they just gave Spike perfectly non-booby trapped food, the two once again battle it out with each other having Jerry toss the now empty plateat Tom, Tom chasing Jerry, Jerry hits Tom with a Flamingo shaped stand and Tom sprays Jerry with the hose, with Spike watching and laughing at their expense. The duo then shock each with joy buzzers when Rick and Ginger return, telling Tom and Jerry that April Fool's Day is tomorrow, and today is March 31st, meaning someone messed with the calendar and wondered who did it. Tom and Jerry were confused and shrugged to each other, but in his doghouse, Spike secretly reveals to the viewers that he did it, claiming that he deserves some fun every now and then.
