Room Service Robots is the seventeenth episode of Tom and Jerry in New York.
Synopsis[]
Tom is testing robots brought to maintain order inside the hotel.
Plot[]
Armand is presenting to Molly a set of five robots the hotel received for room service. Tom is initially frightened by one of those, until he notices the robot preparing a hamburger rapidly. Tom dreams about those robots attending to him and he quickly develops an idea, how to use those devices for himself. When the hotel personnel is focused on talking, Tom snatches the remote and flees to one of the guest rooms. Once in place, he tests the robot for himself. He summons one of the robots to deliver him a sandwich.
Unfortunately for Tom, it turns out that Jerry ate the sandwich inside the robot. Jerry hides inside the machine and Tom can't get rid off him. He gets hit by the robot's hatch lid, a platter for the sandwich, and by the robot itself. The third blow sends Tom under a wall, when a painting falls on him. The robot controlled by Jerry moves away the room, so Tom goes after it. He gets hit with bacon and oranges during the chase. However, the leftover cups and platter allow Tom to chase the robot down to the main hall, where the remaining room service robots are stationed.
Tom grabs another remote to control a robot, then a fight between robots erupts. During the encounter, Tom snatches the remaining remotes, which allows him to make five robots under his control attack the one controlled by Jerry. Jerry's robot winds up inside a fountain, badly battered and not reacting to remote commands. The remaining robots break free from the control and activate a protocol aimed at Tom & Jerry. The animals now have to flee before the robots they used against their own fight.
The chase lasts from the hotel's first floor through the rooftop. Jerry leads the robotic mob to leap down from the hotel roof. Tom saves him from failing just when the robots approach too close. The episode ends with Tom & Jerry conciliating, then Tom literally turns off the screen with a salvaged remote.
