Original Version[]
(The cartoon begins on an evening zooming into a house where Tom is sneaking to see Mammy Two Shoes getting ready for her game of bridge with her friends, and Tom runs back to his bed and sleeps. Mammy heads out the door and closes the door with her foot. Tom wakes up, rushes to the door and opens the peephole to see her gone. He closes it and points his thumb that Mammy is gone to the audience and walks, stops and laughs, then runs to the window. He whistles, then gets Tom's friends Lighting, Butch, and Topsy. Tom holds up a sign that says," O.K FOR THE PARTY")
Lightning and Butch: YAHOOO!!
(The three cats zoom through the window into the house. Topsy crashes into Tom with his trash lid hat. Lightning puts on a chef's hat and pulls out a spatula and puts many discs on a phonograph. He listens to a piano playing and plays along with the spatula to make it look like a hi-hat cymbal is playing. Butch plays the piano and clicks it like a typewriter. Topsy plays empty wine glasses like a xylophone. Tom brings a lots of food to the beat of a drum set and makes the three cats eat. Tom plays along with a spoon on Topsy's trash hat to make it look like a hi-hat cymbal is playing. Meanwhile in Jerry's hole, Jerry can't get any sleep because of all of the noises from their party. His head mimics the cymbal, the castanets, the piano, the cowbell and finally, the electric guitar. Finally having enough, Jerry storms out of the hole and goes to Tom, stops him, and Tom stops and looks at Jerry)
Jerry: HEY! STOP! I'm in my little room over there! I'm trying to get some sleep, but you guys are here with your blah, blah, blah, blah!
(Unsurprisingly, Tom and his pals don't listen and put Jerry through a painful and humiliating ordeal finishing with him getting his rear impaled with record pins. Furious, Jerry proceeds to disrupt the proceedings personally by tearing out the phonograph's needle, shutting Topsy in a drawer and slamming the piano lid shut on Butch's fingers,)
Butch: AHH!!! (Butch glares towards Jerry)
(Jerry returns to his hole; when he looks back, the cats try reprisal attempts at Jerry with the mouse escaping for the cats to crash into the mouse hole. They all get up, Tom gets an idea then)
Tom: SHHH!
(They all go hide behind the dresser to lure Jerry out by switching the radio on and then chase him after he pulls the plug. Topsy tries to squash him with his dustbin lid hat, but is left only with four taunting caricatures of Jerry imprinted in it. Jerry then backtracks as the three bigger cats come after him, but he ceases their pursuit after shutting the top half of a door, causing them to run flat-out into it. Hiding behind a curtain, he nicks Topsy's lid as he runs past then puts it in the cat's path as he comes running back. Trying to escape through a window shade, Jerry is flattened and promptly tied up in the drawstring. With him out of the way, the cats resume their party whilst leaving Jerry trapped by the Reverse bungee and forced to listen (Piano: Butch, 2 Guitars: Lightning and Tom and Cymbal: Topsy's lid). This, however, turns out to be the proverbial final straw for Jerry who decides to call in the big guns. Managing to negotiate his way over to the telephone, Jerry proceeds to ring up Mammy Two Shoes to inform her of the unauthorized proceedings taking place in her residence.)
*phone rings*
Mammy Two Shoes: Hello? Yes, this is the lucky seven of Saturday night bridge club. Who? This is her. A party?! At my house? Excuse me! (Mammy Two Shoes rush back to her house to return home to see that Tom and friends were having a party) Thomas! (Tom and his cats friends retreat until she catches them and throws them into a brick wall into a totem of cats.) Doggone cats! Messed up my whole evening. Well I might as well relax and play myself a little soft, soothing, hot... music.
(The music resumes. As Jerry could not sleep because of the loud music, the cartoon ends.)
1966 Chuck Jones Version[]
(The cartoon begins on an evening zooming into a house where Tom is sneaking to see his thin girl teen getting ready to go to a party. She gets a call in the phone from a friend)
Girl: Hello? Hi, Katherine. Yes, I'm on my way. Oh, is lover boy there yet? Good!
(Tom runs back to his bed and sleeps. The girl heads out to the door and closes the door with her foot. Tom wakes up, rushes to the door and opens the peephole to see her gone. He closes it and points his thumb that his girl owner is gone to the audience and walks, stops and laughs, then runs to the window. He whistles, then gets Tom's friends Lightning, Butch, and Topsy. Oh well, might as well dance alone to some nice, soothing, beat... music.
