Saturday Evening Puss is the 48th of Tom and Jerry shorts. It was directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera who created the cat and mouse duo ten years earlier. The cartoon was produced by Fred Quimby, scored by Scott Bradley and animated by Ed Barge, Kenneth Muse, Irven Spence and Ray Patterson.

Plot

Mammy decides to leaves the to go Lucky Seven Saturday Night Bridge Club. As Mammy leaves, Tom invites Butch, Lighting, Topsy for the Party and continues to party very loud . The Song causes Jerry to disturbs the song. Jerry decides to Stop the song each other. During the chases, Tom ties Jerry in a windowsill string, then resumes the partying. In Anger, Jerry decides to report Mammy from Tom's Actives. Meanwhile, Mammy is seen playing bridge with her friends, Until Jerry calls her. She immediately goes to back to her house and throw Tom & his Friends out of the house. Mammy says how Tom ruined her life. She decides to relax by hearing the song which looks the same song that tom & others does, much to Jerry's dismay.

  • This is one episode where Butch, Meathead and Topsy are depicted as Tom's friends.
  • In Hatch up your trouble the magazine, Tom was reading is called Saturday Evening Puss.
  • When this cartoon aired on CBS, Mammy Two Shoes is replaced by a white woman.
  • Mammy's face is revealed when you stop slowly.
  • If you listen closely when Jerry is screaming at Tom you can hear he's saying " Stop! I'm trying over there trying to get on some sleep but you guys are here with your blah, blah, blah, blah!"
