(The episode begins at the detective's office. Jerry is checking the calendar.)

Narrator: It was February. (The visual focuses on the calendar. It is apparently February 14th.) A time, when everyone's minds were on hearts and flowers.

Jerry: *leaps from the armchair* (Having landed on a desk, Jerry writes something on a paper.)

Narrator: What's this? (Jerry has finished writing.)

Jerry: *giggles* (It is written on the paper "Dear Tom, You are a QT! Signed, Your Secret Admirer." )

Narrator: "Dear Tom, You are a cutie! Signed, Your Secret Admirer."

Jerry: (Runs to the mailbox down the street and pushes the fake love letter inside. Then, he runs back to the office.)

Tom: (Peeks behind a corner.)

Narrator: What's this? (Tom pushes his own card into the same mailbox, then he runs back to the office.) I guess two can play at that game.

Jerry: *whistling*

Tom: *whistling*

(Suddenly, two letters are pushed through the door gap. Tom and Jerry rush to the fresh mail. One letter is addressed to Jerry Mouse, another one to Tom Cat. The recipients grab the letters and read those.)

Tom: *sighs*

Jerry: (Looks at Tom with joy, then he opens the letter for himself.) *reads the letter*

Narrator: "Dear Jerry, you have beautiful ears!" (Jerry hugs the paper sheet.) Oh brother! Believe it or not, they do this every year.

Tom: A-hahahaha!

(Tom hears someone knocking the door.)

Narrator: Suddenly, a knock at the door ended all the romance in the air. (The cabinet doors open wide. A short taupe female cat dressed in cook jacket and hat is standing in the corridor. She isn't feeling confident.) Looks like I spoke too soon...

Matilda: I'm sorry to barge in on you like this... But I DESPERATELY need your help!

Narrator: It was Matilda, from Matilda's Sweet Shop across the town.

Tom: *flutters eyes* (Tom rushes towards Matilda.)

Matilda: *crying* (Matilda is weeping while sitting on the couch. Jerry is standing near her.) I'm sorry to carry on like this... I'm at my wits end!

Tom: (Leaps with opened heart-shaped chocolate box.)

Matilda: Oh, no, thank you. *burst in tears*

Jerry: (Grabs a tissue box and presents it to Matilda. She stops crying.)

Matilda: Oh, how thoughtful! Thank you. (Matilda covers her face with a tissue.)

Narrator: Tom was trying hard to win that feline's heart. (Matilda raises her eyes and looks around.)

Matilda: Actually, someone stole my heart! *sobs* (Matilda gestures and flutters her eyes. She is still weeping.)

Narrator: Is it a job for detectives, or a job for Cupid?

Jerry: *stares at the audience*

(The scenery changes to Matilda's bake shop. Matilda is showing Tom and Jerry the place of the crime in her shop.)

Matilda: This is where it happened - here, in my sweet shop. (Tom and Jerry stop. They look around with delight on their faces. The screen shows Matilda's bake shop from inside.) I bake cakes, pies, all sorts of things! (Matilda pops up in the middle of the screen.) But the thief didn't take any of those. He stole this -my heart-shaped cake! (Matilda shows Tom and Jerry a photo of a heart-shaped cake.) This specialty cake was made for the notorious gangster, Sweet-tooth Malone. And baked inside was an enormous diamond engagement ring. (A ring shines inside the cake photo. Matilda retracts the photo.) He asked me to bake that cake, so he can give it to his girlfriend tomorrow. (Matilda is gesturing.) And now, the cake and the ring are stolen... (Matilda is holding her temples.) And I'm afraid what he'll do when he finds out! Please, you've got to help me!

Tom: *Grabs a box of tissues that Jerry hold* (Tom offers Matilda a tissue.)

Matilda: Oh, you're very kind. (Matilda grabs a tissue and blows her nose right on Tom.) Thank you.

(The scenery changes.)

Narrator: The PIs decided to go undercover as bakers. (Tom dresses in chef's outfit emerges from the table. Jerry follows him, dressed in the same fashion.) They assured Matilda they'd solve this case before Sweet-tooth Malone walked back through that door.

(The door opens. A male English Bulldog dressed in black tuxedo with matching fedora hat enters the area.)

Sweet-tooth Malone: Hey, you two mopes! I'm here about a cake. (Malone examines Tom and Jerry with his gaze.) Hey, you's two look familiar... (Tom and Jerry stare at one another.) You remind me of a couple of private eyes that caught me once.

Tom and Jerry together: (They gesture if Malone means them.)*laugh* (Malone is staring at the protagonists with suspicion as they keep laughing. Tom slams his fist at the table desk, which causes Jerry's fake mustache to fall down. After a moment, the detectives realize that something is wrong and stop laughing.)

Jerry: *attempts to set the fake mustache to stick back onto his face*

(Matilda grabs the detectives from behind and drags them out of the screen. She replaces them at the counter, striking a silly grin.)

Matilda: Hi!

Sweet-tooth Malone: I'm here to collect my cake.

Matilda: Yes, the heart-shaped cake. It's not quite done right now. But don't worry, you can pick it up first thing tomorrow.

Sweet-tooth Malone: It better be ready... Or else! (Malone walks away with a toothpick in his teeth.)

(The day passes and night falls.)

Narrator: It was late, and the cat and mouse were no closer to solving the crime, but they had a plan. A trap! (Matilda places a heart-shaped cake replica on display.)

Matilda: Okay, I placed an exact copy of the original cake in the window. (Matilda presents what she did.) If the thief comes back again, you'll be here to catch him! Good luck. (Matilda walks away. The door make sound.)

Jerry: *drools while staring at the cake Matilda left as a decoy* (Jerry attempts to rush at the cake, but Tom stops him.)

Tom: *shows Jerry "No" gesture with his finger*

(Tom and Jerry set positions. Tom is observing the cake using binoculars. He changes gaze to the counter, then to the door. At the fourth sight, he spots Jerry eating chocolate chip cookies on duty. Tom moves sight to cupcakes on display.)

Tom: *winks*

Jerry: *munches a cookie* *gulps* (Jerry realizes that upset Tom is watching him en face.)

Tom: *gestures to hand over the cookies Jerry is eating*

Jerry: *pretends to give the cookie* (Jerry rapidly swallows the cookie. He attempts to flee, but Tom rushes at him and both collapse on small cakes. Jerry is entangled by three doughnuts and Tom has a cupcake splattered on his jaws.)

Tom: *removes the cupcake from his face and slurps* (Tom eats the cupcake in prone position. Jerry starts eating the doughnuts entangling him, while Tom grabs other small cakes from the ground.)

Narrator: Looks like this stakeout has turned into a pig out!

*glass shatters*

(Tom and Jerry stop eating. They run to examine the noise source. They reach the counter and peek past it. The window is broken and the decoy cake is moving.)

Tuffy: *rises the decoy cake with effort*

Tom and Jerry: *rush at Tuffy* (The animal detectives push Tuffy and the decoy cake out of Matilda's shop to the street. The cake is ruined.)

Narrator: They didn't expect it, but there he was! (Tuffy emerges from the ruined decoy cake.) The culprit was Tuffy. A notorious little squirt. (Tuffy stares at Tom with a knavish gaze.) A reform school dropout and one tought cookie. (Tuffy is pretending to be tough.)

Tuffy: *with a challenging voice tone* Okay, you got me. So, what of it? I was just helping out my best pal - Winston! Poor guy is all alone on Valentine's Day... So, I figured I'd help him out with a cake. Wanna make something of it?

Tom: *shakes his head*

Narrator: Wait a minute, who's gonna pay for all of this? (Tom is gesturing at the broken window.) And what about that missing cake? (Tom is gesturing at Tuffy.)

Tuffy: *loses confidence*

(Tuffy flees to the right. The protagonists rush after him. The scenery changes to a residental area with tenement blocks.)

Narrator: The detectives stayed hot on Tuffy's trail, and that eventually led them to Winston's place. (The closeup goes at the middle tenement block's upper floor. A cat-shaped clock inside is ticking while showing 12:00 in the night. The clock meows.)

Winston: *admiring the cake Tuffy stole for him* Oh boy, oh boy! It's midnight! That means it's officially Valentine's Day. And now, I can eat my special cake! (Something interrupts Winston.)

Tuffy: *leaping and flailing hands* Run, Winston! RUN! A couple of gumshoes are coming fo your cake! (Tom and Jerry appear behind the door frame.)

Winston: *looks around frantically* My cake!

(Winston grabs the cake and flees. Tom and Jerry go after him. Tuffy stands still. Winston stops at his container, looks around, and pushes himself inside.)

Tom: *leaps on Winston's container*

(Winston causes the container to shatter from inside, sending Tom high into the ceiling. Winston looks around and flees. Jerry goes after him. Tom recovers while hanging on the chandelier, then he looks downwards and spots Winston sitting on his scratching post.)

Jerry: *charges at Winston* (Jerry stumbles on a yarn, which causes him to hit Winston's scratching post and push it away. After a moment, Winston pins Jerry down with a splat. The obese cat rises and flees, with intact cake.) *rises from the ground and moves dizzily*

(While running, Winston loses his cake when Tom snatches it from the chandelier. Winston checks what happened, then Tom leaps down with the cake and runs away.)

Tuffy: *sets a leg on Tom's way* (Tom stumbles on Tuffy's leg. Jerry approaches and attempts to grab the cake from Tom's shaking hands. The animal detectives hit one another in motion, therefore Tom loses the cake. The pastry flies high in the air. Winston charges past the protagonists and catches the cake in flight, then he crashes.)

Tom and Jerry: *wink their eyes* (Winston in prone position is holding the cake, which miraculously survived the turmoil.)

Winston: My cake!

Tom: *exhales* Phew!

Winston: *chomps* (Winston swallows the cake with a single chomp.)

Tom and Jerry: AAARRRGHH!

Winston: *enjoying the last bits of the cake* Yum. *burps* I didn't know.

(Winston gestures with his fingers. The scenery changes to the living room. Winston is sitting on the table, surrounded by Tom and Jerry. He has clean face.)

Narrator: The PIs knew the cake was awash. But they still had a chance to get that ring back.

Tuffy: I don't get it. How are you gonna get that ring if Winston already ate it?

Jerry: *presents a bird feather*

Tuffy: I still don't get it!

(Jerry tickles Winston with the feather.)

Winston: *giggles* Stop it! I just ate. It's gonna make me... (Winston vomits the ring. It lands near Jerry and Tuffy, still with cake leftovers.)

Tuffy: Lookie there! It's the ring!

Tom: *cringes*

Narrator: Ew! Well, that solves that problem. But the PIs still need a replacement for the cake.

(Tom is thinking. The scenery changes to Matilda's shop's kitchen. Jerry is wearing cook's outfit and he breaks an egg to a bowl. Tom dressed in the same fashion is mixing dough. The protagonists add flour to the dough. The day breaks upon Matilda's shop.)

Matilda: Hello, boys? (Matilda enters the working place.) *gasps* AAAH!

(Tom and Jerry are resting on the cooking table, still dressed in cook outfits. Matilda's presence has been woken them up.)

Matilda: What happened in here? (Matilda approaches Tom and Jerry.) And what about the cake? Sweet-tooth Malone will be here any minute!

Tom: (Presents Matilda an exact replica of the cake.)

Matilda: Huh? It's perfect! (Matilda grabs the cake. She is visibly happier than earlier in the episode.) Wait, is the ring in here?

Tom and Jerry: *nod their heads*

Matilda: Oh, you two are amazing! This is gonna save me. (The door opens.) *Matilda gasps* he's here. I better get this out there. (Matilda rushes to the counter. Tom is resting on the work table with Jerry nearby, when Matilda approaches him.) *kisses Tom at his cheek* (Matilda returns to the counter.)

Tom: *sighs* (Tom is visibly tillitated.)

Sweet-tooth Malone: I'm here to pick up my cake. (Matilda approaches the counter.)

Matilda: Here it is! (Matilda presents Malone the cake.)

Sweet-tooth Malone: Now that is a thing of beauty! (Malone takes over the cake and admires it.) It's perfect. (Malone walks away without paying.) *The door opens and closes.*

Matilda: *winks* (Matilda turns gaze to Tom and Jerry.) We did it. You two saved my biscuits!

Tom: (Presents Matilda a cupcake.)

Matilda: Wah? A present for me? (Matilda grabs the cupcake.) *chomps* (Matilda chews the cupcake, then she suddenly feels something beneath teeth.) Eh? (Matilda opens her mouth and shows a tongue. The ring for Malone is entangled to Matilda's tongue.)

Narrator: Uh-oh...

Tom and Jerry: *gulp together*

(Malone's sedan drives away from Matilda's bake shop, leaving fumes behind. Tom and Jerry attempt to catch up the car.)

Narrator: Good luck, fellas! This is one of those cases, that really takes the cake.

(Malone's sedan drives into the city, with Tom and Jerry attempting to catch it up. The episode ends.)
