TNT (Turner Network Television) an American basic cable television channel created by Turner launched on October 3, 1988 and currently owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery Networks unit of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) when Turner eventually merged with Time Warner on October 10, 1996.

TNT's original purpose was to air classic films and television series to which Turner Broadcasting maintained spillover rights through its sister station TBS and also classic cartoons from Turner Entertainment's library until fall 1998. Since June 2001, the network has shifted its focus to dramatic television series and feature films, along with some sporting events (including NBA, NHL, U.S. Soccer, the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament and professional wrestling shows AEW Rampage & Collision), as TBS shifted its focus to comedic programming.

TNT aired Hanna-Barbera's 50th: A Yabba Dabba Doo Celebration in 1989, two years before Turner eventually acquired Hanna-Barbera.

TNT aired WCW (World Championship Wrestling) from 1988 to 2001. Time Warner sold it to the WCW's chief competitor, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.) in 2001, thus the end of the WCW. 18 years later, the WCW was succeed by All Elite Wrestling (AWE) as TNT's professional wrestling program, which it's also TNT's sister channel, TBS as well.

TNT ran MonsterVision from June 29, 1991 to September 16, 2000, which showed classic horror, thriller, science fiction and fantasy films.

In January 2024, WBD Sports (previously known as Turner Sports) is rebranded as TNT Sports.

The Rudy and GoGo World Famous Cartoon Show aired on TNT from July 8, 1995 until August 20, 1997, one year before TNT stop showing cartoons and less than four years before it shifted to focus on more dramatic programs.
