Synopsis[]

Butch finds a shiny bowling ball in the trash and uses it as a crystal ball to tells Tom of where and how to gets Jerry in order to get Tom out of the way for Butch to steals the foods from the hotel's kitchen.

Plot[]

The episode begins with Butch searching garbage containers for food. He finds a shiny lapis lazuli bowling ball he inspects, then he puts it into a garbage can nearby. He attempts to beg some food from Tom, without success. Having been kicked out the hotel's kitchen, Butch stumbles upon the bowling ball he had discarded. After a close examination, he concieves an idea.

At the hotel's kitchen, Jerry is living on fruits prepared for the guests. Tom spots him and attempts to repel Jerry. The kitchen cart stops Tom and causes him to hit the wall filled with bowls. After a short bail out, Tom chases Jerry, but winds up outside the hotel's kitchen. Butch is awaiting him in the backyard, then he offers Tom help. Butch dresses himself in a makeshift turban, sets the shiny ball on a flat surface, then he pretends to have contact with it. He manages to make Tom believe that the shiny ball detected Jerry sneaking past. Butch grabs Jerry and puts him into a piano. Meanwhile, people are gathering around the instrument for a concerto while Tom prepares to catch Jerry inside the piano. Both the cat and the mouse are struck with keys and strings, which infuriates the musician handling the piano. Jerry manages to flee from the musician, but Tom gets caught with fingers snapped and winds up forcibly thrown away the building.

Tom and Butch meet together at the hotel's backyard, where Butch is having a feast. He manages to cheat both Tom and Jerry with his shiny ball by making Tom perform weird tasks. Jerry is the first to discover the swindle, then he shows Tom that Butch was profiting at their own expenses. Being exasperated, Tom knocks to the container Butch occupies as a living place, then he puts the ball into Butch's jaws and hurls him at the trash cans.

The episode ends with Tom and Jerry sharing chicked drumsticks.

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Butch Cat in the series.
