Transcript

This is the transcript for The Framed Cat.

The opening scene is a kitchen with a freshly cooked chicken on the table. Tom sneaks to the table and pulls a leg off the chicken. Tom runs away, but accidentally hits some crockery which falls from the table and breaks. Mammy Two Shoes hears this.

Mammy Two Shoes: Thomas? Is that you messing around in the kitchen?

Tom immediately runs to Jerry's mousehole and places the chicken leg on Jerry's hands, framing the mouse. Mammy Two Shoes arrives and spots Jerry holding the chicken leg.

Mammy Two Shoes: Thomas, come in here and get this chicken-stealing mouse!

Tom responds to the call and chases the mouse out of the house. After Tom catches Jerry, he then throws the mouse away and eats the chicken. Tom proceeds to take a nap under a tree.

Jerry notices Spike playing and cuddling with his bone. He then runs to and takes the bone from the dog. Jerry places the bone on Tom's chest. Meanwhile, Spike notices his bone is gone and begins searching for it, until he sees Tom with his bone. Spike then confronts Tom.

Spike: Hey, you!

Tom awakes from his nap.

Spike: What you doin' with my bone?

Tom acts ignorant as if to say "What, me?"

Spike: Yeah, you!

Spike grabs Tom.

Spike: Listen, pussycat! If I catch you taking my bone again (hits Tom on the head with the bone), there's gonna be trouble. Understand?

Tom nods. Spike throws Tom back into the tree and walks away. Tom sticks out his tongue at the dog, then Spike gets back at him by hitting him again with the bone. Tom spots Jerry laughing of what happened to the cat.

Tom starts chasing Jerry again and stops in front of Spike. Jerry knocks off Spike's bone, which landed on Tom's hands. Spike growls furiously and is about to attack the cat. Tom then seemingly "pets" Spike to calm him down.

Tom: Come on, boy! Up, up! Come on!

Spike complies, standing with his face up. Tom then places the bone on top of Spike's nose.

Tom: Ah, that's a good boy. Steady now!

Tom runs away. Spike realizes he was tricked by Tom and briefly looks like a "jackass". The dog plans to get back at Tom, but since the cat has run away, he goes back to the doghouse, where Jerry is hiding. Spike then digs a hole to hide his bone into it, but is immediately stolen by Jerry while the dog is not looking. Spike covers the hole, not knowing that the bone is gone.

Tom is hiding behind an automatic trash can. Jerry ties the bone to Tom's tail and hits the cat's face with the lid, and another chase follows. Spike sees them and wonders why there is a bone tied to Tom's tail. He quickly digs the hole and notices his bone is indeed gone. Spike chases Tom and he manages to bite on the bone attached to the cat's tail, but they get tangled up in a tree and they slam each other head on.

The bone ends up in Tom's mouth, and Spike growls again. Tom puts the bone in Spike's mouth, winds it up, and released it like an airplane propelling Spike back to his doghouse.

Spike makes sure no one steals his bone, so he looks around and hides it inside the doghouse. Jerry then hand-drills a hole into the bone and screws a magnetic iron. Then he sneaks to a sleeping Tom and places a magnet on the cat's mouth. The magnetic attraction causes the bone to move, waking Spike in the process, until it landed on Tom's mouth.

Spike grabs the bone from Tom, but is attracted by the magnet, no matter how many times or how hard Spike tries to retain his grip on the bone. Spike is angered by this and starts to chase Tom, who stops near the wall and throws the bone out in the street.

Spike tries to catch the bone, but misses it due to the magnetic attraction.

He then tries another catch when the bone is stuck on the fence, but he bites through the fence and misses the bone again.

He manages to get a hold of the bone, but gets stuck when he runs into the fork of a tree. He tries to grab it with his tongue, but he loses the bone again, due to the strong magnetic attraction.

The bone now acts like it's walking, being chased by Spike. Jerry, who is hiding in a tin can, emerges with a smile, but is also dragged due to the magnetic attraction.

In the final scene, Tom runs off with as Spike dashes after him to get his bone back and Jerry is dragged from the tin can by the magnet. The chase continues down the roadside as the cartoon irises out.
