"The Great Mousini" is the thirty-ninth episode of The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show.

Synopsis[]

A traveling show manager hires Jerry as an escape artist along with his co-star Tom, after seeing the cat's trap backfiring.

Plot[]

The episode starts with traveling man, P.T. Barnone and his friend walking down the alley with the friend noticing it look picked over to noticing the poster of the mouse, Jerry that P.T. had working for him years ago. P.T. resembles then recalls the poster of The Great Mousini, greatest escape artist. The friend then ask where he found him, P.T. then replies that he found him in the same alley saying it was like yesterday as he flashbacks.

When he meet the Mouseini, P.T. was looking out for a new feature attraction to live up his traveling show. One day while parked by his caravan near the alley he watched two of nature's mortal enemies using a scope. Witnessing Jerry outwiting Tom. The cat sets up a trap where the cat set a trap for the mouse using cheese. He hides using the tree branch above a trash bin with free cheese sitting there. Tom tries trapping him with the cage using his hands but is launched into the air when Jerry pulled the branch up. The cat ends with the cage on his head and falling into the bin. As Tom rises out shaking from inside the bin, Jerry blows the horn that scare the cat as the mouse laughs at the predicament. He then notices the P.T., Jerry then approaches his carvan. P.T. tells him that he has lots of talent and ask if he wants to join him in show biz, Jerry accepts and signs the contact. Jerry is given cheese for doing so as P.T. paints his truck rebranding it to "The Great Mousini".

The first show premiere with him presenting him the world's greatest escape artist, The Great Mousini as the curtains open. Tom is recruited for the act where he pours water to a container which Jerry would go inside. Noting that nothing would stop the mouse not that Tom tried his best including gimmicks that weren't in the script. Tom puts a shark in the container with Jerry and chains the chain trying to prevent Jerry from escaping however when the curtain closes and opens again. They end up swapping place with Jerry on the top as Tom is inside the container instead.

P.T. explains they needed one more wild one show to push them to the big time for the big TV special in just a few hours. He lays Jerry on a pillow for him to rest as he next to cheese relaxing. P.T. gives Tom fish from his cage nickname him hopeless as he has him to give the audience laughs. P.T. noted that their stooge Tom was through with it all. But what he didn't know that Jerry was as well because it was not the same. Jerry teasing Tom by throwing a wedge of cheese at him or pulling his whiskers from inside nothing can bring back to his old aggressive mouse chasing self. Although Mousini had it all, P.T. noticed he was missing something in his life. Mousini was missing the good old days when he has fun of thrill of being chased by Tom. As he dreams he wakes up unenthusiastic hearing P.T. telling him to get ready in stage in five minutes. Jerry then made up his mind to give it all up but how was the question. Jerry gets an idea how to do, P.T. is unaware of until it was too late.

The show starts and presenting the great Mousini. The curtain opens having a giant mouse trap with Jerry chained up a platform standing on cheese. Tom was suppose to set the trap on Mousini but the cat wasn't moving. Tom continue leaning on a mallet as he yawns until he noticed that the cat wanted out of the Mousini act. But worse of all, Mousini himself did as well. As Jerry winks as plan works as he acknowledges Tom is uncooperative. The audience become confused, as P.T. tells Tom to stick to the script but Tom wasn't budging as the audience begin to boo at the stage because of it. P.T. continous call Tom to do something or he'll never work in showbiz again and the crowd begin throwing tomatos at the cat. Despite the commotion, Tom still remain static. Mousini then frees himself tying the chains together, despite P.T. telling him to wait for the trap to being set off. Jerry then throws a tomato at Tom himself with the audience. Tom falls to floor with tomato splatter on his face noticing Jerry has thrown a tomato at him. Jerry then throws another tomato at the cat despite P.T. dismay. Tom somehow caught on to Mousini's plan, an old green came back to his eye. Tom then chases after Jerry up ontop of the giant mousetrap. The crowd begin to worry and point at the situation. The giant mouse trap became unbalanced with the two on it. Both jump on the curtain as the giant mouse trap falls down on the wall of the XYZ studio building outside.

P.T. saying it was a catastrophe, with the whole world watching the big TV special ended up a colossal flop. P.T. then leaves walking out the building. After the show P.T. then says after the show, he'd never seen the Great Mousini again, guessing he and the stooge Tom cat are back home chasing each other as the two enemies fight in the house as the episode close.
