"The Kitten Sitters" is the nineteenth episode of The Tom and Jerry Show (1975).
Synopsis[]
Tom and Jerry take in six abandoned kittens without Spike's knowledge, and the sight of a kitten who seems to be everywhere almost drives him crazy.
Plot[]

In the house, Spike is the watchdog in charge awhile the mistress is out. As Tom chases Jerry, Spike explains the rules which are no horsing around, no chasing, etc. But Spike is interrupted by Tom and Jerry chasing each other. Spike tells the duo to cut it out before they damage something. Tom slipped onto a rug and tumbled hitting the potted plant, the bird cage, and the fish tank. until Tom crash into the wall with Jerry falling on him from a cuckoo clock.
Spike appears to scolds Tom and Jerry telling them to clean up the mess. Suddenly Spike hears the knock on the door. He goes to the front door and opens to see a basket with a kitten holding a sign saying "I need a home were looking for a home". Spike refuses as there is too much pets in the house then slams the door. Spike asks Tom and Jerry if they are done cleaning and they nod, he tells them to take their antics outside. Tom and Jerry go to the front door finding a basket with the same kitten requesting with the sign "I need a home were looking for a home", Tom and Jerry agree to let them in.
Tom picks up the kitten and five more kittens appears in the basket. As Spike is sleeping, Tom, Jerry and the kitten sneak to the kitchen followed by the five other kittens pass him but Spike is breifly waken to see five kittens, he falls asleep to beliving it was a daydream. Jerry pours the milk into the bowl as Tom puts the kitten down to drink the milk as the other kittens is about to drink the milk. The kittens started meowing with Tom trying to quiet the the kittens. Spike wakes up and hears the noise in the kitchen. Spike returns to the front door to find the basket is empty. Spike questions who let the kitten in and runs to the kitchen. Tom aware of Spike is coming then the duo grabs the six kittens. Spike goes to the kitchen looking around for the kittens. Tom is sleeping on the pillow hiding one of the kittens the kitten appears under the pillow as Tom covers the kitten under the pillow. Spike goes to Tom and holds him. Tom starts meowing to trick him but Spike covers his mouth. As kitten is under the pillow while he is moving. Spike finds the kitten under the pillow. Spike then grabs the kitten and put it back in the basket.
Spike tells Tom and Jerry who like to play the games suggesting to play boot the puss or clock ran down the mouse but both cat and mouse flee as Spike runs towards them before stopping after he hearing the kitten meowing near the canary making the chirping noise with the kitten meowing in the bird cage thinking it is a birdcat. Spike hears chirping as Tom grabs the kitten from the birdcage. Spike finding out there is no catbird, Spike goes to the birdcage and tells the canary where is that kitten. The canary chirps leaving Spike and puts the kitten outside.
Jerry opens the door to let the kitten go inside. Tom sneaks by carrying the kitten with Spike runs towards them. But Spike thinking Tom put the kitten in the flowerpot. As a kitten appears in the flowerpot, Spike sees and grabs the kitten from flowerpot and Spike put it in the basket and closing the door he locks the door to prevent the kitten from getting in. Tom looks out for Spike while the kittens coming out of Jerry's mousehole to drink the milk.
Spike runs searching for the duo hears the kitten meowing but the kitten appears behind the fish tank. Spike assuming the fish is also meowing covers his ears as kitten ran into the kitchen. Tom shuts the door with Spike becoming confused to where the meowing was coming from as the cuckoo bird comes out of the clock to make the cuckoo sound and meowing noise beliving he's going cuckoo crazy. Then the kitten climbs down the cuckoo clock and heads to to the kitchen with Tom holding the door open. Spike finds out Tom and Jerry is hiding the kitten.
Spike runs to the kitchen Tom, Jerry and Kittens run away. Spike slips onto the milk bowl and crashes into a laundry basket to the wall causing the door opens up and the ironing board falling on Spikes's head, as Tom and Jerry inside escape. Spike told where is that kitten and spots the the kitten appearing under the white cloth with six kittens is under the white cloth seeing it as a six foot kitten.
Spike with Tom and Jerry happy the kittens are drinking the bowl of milk.
Spike is convince he becoming crazy, to keep his sainty, he decides to leave the house. Spike packs up his things carrying a sack on a pole wit his stuff and lifts the dog house finding the kittens appears inside it. Spike finds out they are six kittens and happy he is not going crazy with the kittens comforting Spike. Spike tells Tom and Jerry to make milk for the kittens as he now accepts them in. Spike, Tom and Jerry watch the kittens drinking the milk. Spike tells Tom and Jerry to go out and play awhile he takes care of the kittens. Spike is playing with kittens. Tom and Jerry shake hands together while smiling to the audience.

- This is the first episode where Tom has intentions of chasing Jerry in this series, although this only happens in the beginning of the episode.
- This is the one of the two only episodes in the series where Tom chases after Jerry (with the second being Planet Pest).
- This is episode has a few similarities to the Tom and Jerry short, Puppy Tale.
- With the obvious being, the six kittens being feline counterparts to the six puppies.
- Tom and Jerry take care of the kittens without Spike knowing (with the forementioned has Jerry taking care of the puppy without Tom's knowledge).
- Spike has a change of heart for the kittens and accepting them (with the former has Tom accepting the puppies in).
- Spike breifly mentions the unseen female owner for the series. Which is the only time a owner of the house is mentioned in the series.
- A canary and goldfish in the episode resemble Cuckoo and Goldie in the episode.
