Premise[]
As Spike build a Soapbox racer for His son, Tyke feels uneasy when He's about to Face Mary-Lou in the Neighborhood Soapbox Race.
Synopsis[]
While Spike is napping in a hammock, Tyke walks passed holding a bunch of lumber. Spike awakens and follows his son to the garage where it is revealed that Tyke is building a soap box racer. Spike shows His son a photo of himself as a Soap Box Derby Champ and tells Tyke that he'll help him build a racer. As Spike is building the racer, a Pekanese pup named Mary-Lou comes along to the garage to say hello to Tyke and He finds out that Mary-Lou is also in the race. She shows Tyke her racer, The Pink Powder Puff, that looks like a pink rocket. Tyke is a little dejected because he's afraid that if he wins, Mary Lou won't be his girlfriend. However, Spike encourages Tyke about winning and the two go over the specifics of racing. Spike even takes the racer for a test drive, which leads it to another part of the city and back.
Later, as Tyke was polishing His Racer, He sees Mary-Lou crying only to find out that she's got the measles and can't participate the race. as the race began, The Competitors, composed of a big pudgy boy, 2 brothers, an adolescent, and a kid, and riding in Mary-Lou's car in the race is Tyke, much to his embarrassment from all the mocking the other racers are giving him. Spike questions why Tyke is in the Pink Powder Puff, as Tyke responds that He'll try to Win in Mary-Lou's place. Tyke wins the race with the trophy going to Mary-Lou and Tyke getting the measles thanks to Mary-Lou's scarf he was wearing.

- This is the second episode where Spike is seen a kid in a photo. The first one was in Tyke on a Bike but in a flashback.
