"Tom Thumped" is an episode of Tom & Jerry Kids.
Premise[]
Jerry tries to help his friend Wild Mouse evade capture from the police while Tom devises a scheme to win the heart of a beautiful white kitten by presenting Jerry as a gift.
Synopsis[]
The episode opens in Jerry's mousehole, where he watches a news report excitedly announcing that Wild Mouse will be performing at the Dinkle Brothers' Circus that weekend. However, the tone quickly shifts as an urgent bulletin reveals Wild Mouse has escaped, prompting a city-wide search. Jerry looks outside to see policemen searching the area, and he nervously spots Wild Mouse sneaking past a cop's leg, munching on the policeman's left shoe.
Wild Mouse soon dashes into Tom's yard, where he comically gnaws on a tree and chews through a clothesline stake. Upon encountering Jerry, Wild Mouse thanks him for his quick thinking when Jerry helps him hide in a shed just before the police notice. Grateful for the rescue, Wild Mouse suggests they celebrate with some food. Jerry agrees to fetch something but is quickly chased by Tom, leading them both to the grand, red mansion of the white kitten, whom Tom instantly falls for.
After catching Jerry, Tom becomes lovestruck by the Tabby's beauty. In his excitement, he accidentally releases Jerry, who scurries away. Tom attempts to impress the white Tabby but is met with rejection as she playfully closes the window on him. However, she surprises him by removing the glass, which shatters dramatically on the ground, reflecting Tom’s clumsiness.
Undeterred, Tom decides to win her affection by presenting her with a bouquet of flowers, which she accepts. However, she teasingly suggests he bring her a mouse—preferably Jerry. Motivated, Tom tries to grab Jerry, but a comical mishap sends him sprawling into the road, where he is hilariously flattened by a street sweeper, leaving him fur-less from the neck down.
Meanwhile, Jerry returns with a sandwich for Wild Mouse, who finds the offering delicious but still hungers for more. As Tom gazes at the Tabby through binoculars, he spots Jerry with the food and swoops in to intercept. Jerry's quick reflexes send the platter soaring, flattening Tom once again and leading to another chase through the yard, culminating in a mad dash back to the shed.
Inside the shed, Tabby slyly informs Tom that Jerry is hiding there. When Tom barges in, he is met with an unexpected surprise: Wild Mouse attacks him in the dark. Tom ends up face-first against the fence, leaving Tabby scratching her head in confusion, wondering if the mouse might be a moose.
At the Tabby's mansion, Tom presents her with yet another bouquet, but she dismisses him, saying she still desires Jerry for cuddles, tea parties, and more. Disgusted, Tom walks away, only to be caught off guard when he grabs Jerry again and places him inside a candy box as a "treat." Wild Mouse cleverly switcheroo’s with Jerry, creating an unexpected twist.
When Tabby opens the box, expecting Jerry, she is startled to find Wild Mouse, who promptly attacks Tom, sending them both tumbling into the mansion's yard where Jerry awaits. Tom tries to regain control, but his antics fail miserably as he gets whacked by a rake, leaving him dazed. Tabby then informs Tom that unless he can produce a mouse, she will not grant him a kiss, walking away as Tom tumbles into a fountain, splashed by a rebellious fish.
In Tom's yard, as Wild Mouse scavenges for scraps, Tom finally locates Jerry hidden in a garbage can. Jerry teases him, prompting a series of slapstick mishaps involving trash can lids that send Tom crashing down once more. Tabby witnesses the chaos and realizes Tom's unwavering determination to win her affection.
The chase leads to a doghouse, where Tom sets his sights on Jerry with a bow and plunger-arrow, but instead accidentally hits Rex the dog, who retaliates with an exaggerated spanking.
In the climax, Jerry helps Wild Mouse board a departing ship, where they share a heartfelt goodbye. Back home, Tom grows anxious about winning Tabby's heart. To his surprise, Jerry encourages him to make a final effort. Tom musters up the courage and approaches the Tabby.
Just as he’s about to claim victory, Jerry stealthily gets the Tabby's attention—only for them both to realize she has a boyfriend: an orange-striped cat named Hunky, who arrives in a limo to whisk her away.
To Tom's astonishment, Jerry is inside the limo with Tabby and Hunky, enjoying the ride as they drive off into the distance. Heartbroken and furious, Tom shakes his fist at them as they leave. To add insult to injury, he is once again run over by the street sweeper, rendering him comically furless from the neck down. The episode concludes with a shot of Tom’s bewildered head poking up from the ground, dazed and defeated, as the camera fades out, leaving the audience laughing at the final antics.
