Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest is a 2015 direct-to-video animated film starting Tom and Jerry and characters from Jonny Quest. The film is a crossover with Jonny Quest, also another Hanna-Barbera creation. The film was produced by Warner Bros. Animation. It was digitally released on June 9, 2015, and released on DVD on June 23, 2015.

Synopsis

Tom and Jerry set out on one of their biggest, boldest adventures yet in Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest. Get set for intrigue, thrills, suspense and high-action as the animated duo get wrapped up in a top secret, spy-tacular, fun-filled mission the whole family can enjoy together. It’s just another day at the beach for the dueling Tom and Jerry, that is until they bump into world-class junior spies Jonny Quest, Hadji and their canine companion Bandit. When longtime Quest family nemesis Dr. Zin discovers that Jonny’s father, Dr. Benton Quest, has a device to solve the world’s energy problems, he sends his evil cat army to steal it and capture him and his bodyguard, Race Bannon. Jonny and his new furry friends set out on an action-packed quest to find his father and save the world from the malicious Dr. Zin.

Plot

The film begins with a trip to the beach for Tom and Jerry when on the same day then the cat and mouse duo later encounter a pair of young world-class Junior spies who go by the name of Johnny Quest and Hadji, along with their canine companion Bandit. Tom fights off an evil cat army and sends them to retreat.

Later, they meet Race Bannon who takes them to Quest Labs where they meet Johnny's father, Dr. Benton Quest, who happens to have a device that will solve the world's energy problems. Meanwhile, The Quest family nemesis, Dr. Zin soon finds out about the device and he sends his evil henchcats Tin, Pan and Alley to steal the device and kidnap Dr. Quest.

That evening, Tom, Jerry, Bandit, Hadji, Dr. Quest, Johnny and Race are having dinner. Tom is dissatisfied upon only having a bowl of milk, which leaves him still hungry when he and everyone else go to bed for the night. Before heading for bed, he learns and memorizes the security code, which is 1-2-3-4. The security system is unlocked as Tom helps himself to the food and as a result, the evil cat army easily break into the Quest Labs and abduct Dr. Quest along with Race Bannon and steal the device.

Johnny Quest and Hadji wake up to see what has happened, rushing to the scene. They pinpoint to the location where the cat army has taken Dr. Quest and Race Bannon and rush off to rescue Johnny's father and his bodyguard.

Trivia

This is the second Tom and Jerry film to be a crossover with another franchise after Tom and Jerry & The Wizard of Oz.
This is the third time Tom was disguised as a mermaid. The first being Tom and Jerry: Shiver Me Whiskers and the Tom and Jerry Tales episode "Octo Suave".
When Jerry was inside the sandcastle looking like a king, a high-pitched instrumental version of God save the Queen can be heard.
This is the second Tom and Jerry film to use only one song. The first being Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes.
The Jonny Quest intro sequence features Tom and Jerry at the beginning of the film.
This is the last appearance of Tin, Pan and Alley.
