Tom and Jerry Play (Japanese:とむとじぇりーごっこ, romanized: Tomu to Jerī Gokko; previously only known as とむとじぇりー, Tomu to Jerī) is a Japanese anime series of animated shorts based on Tom and Jerry, shown exclusively in Japan.
The show debuted on November 11, 2022 during The Cheese Day celebration on Cartoon Network Japan.
Synopsis[]
Tom and Jerry "is a Japanese original with speedy and humorous movements that are the real pleasure of Tom and Jerry, as they keep chasing and fighting each other. The character design expresses a pop and cute worldview.
Tom, a fussy cat who can't be hated, Jerry, a cute but clever mouse, and Tuffy, a small and cute mouse, all transform into adorable characters, such as their favorite food. Transformation is also new to this series and is attracting a lot of attention."
Overview[]
The series features a pastel, ultra-cute version of the cat and mouse comedy duo, as well as the mischievous young mouse Tuffy.
The classic cartoon characters have been redesigned with rounder edges, softer features, a brighter color palette, and kinder attitudes. The series also got a title makeover, replacing the traditional katakana script – used to adapt foreign names to Japanese – of previous Tom and Jerry content with hiragana characters, usually reserved for Japanese names and words.

Notes[]
- The anime was originally going to use character designs by Chara Chara Makiart, who had done the manga Tom and Jerry: Seven Colors.[1] This was changed in the final product after one of the group's two members was found guilty of sexual assault towards a minor.
- The series does not have title cards in the episodes, much like the first Tom and Jerry television series, The Tom and Jerry Show from 1975.
- This series is similar to Tom & Jerry Kids Show, as they make Tom, Jerry and Tuffy look cuter and younger (especially Tom, due to him being shorter) and tone down the violence.
