Tom and Jerry Singapore (also known as Tom and Jerry in Singapore or Tom and Jerry) is an animated television series based on Tom and Jerry. The show has made its debut on Cartoon Network.
The series is designed for Southeast Asian audiences, as it is set in various locations in Singapore, including its streets, buildings, and cityscapes. The series comprises of seven 3-minute episodes produced in Asia in association with Warner Bros. Animation.[1]
Overview[]
The first ever localized Tom and Jerry series, featuring the beloved cartoon cat and mouse in Singapore, will premiere in Southeast and South Asia, Australia and New Zealand on Cartoon Network on October 21, as well as stream on HBO GO in Southeast Asia. Episodes will be globally available via the Cartoon Network Asia YouTube channel. In the seven-part series, the legendary cartoon frenemies take their adventures to the Lion City as they weave through the labyrinth of colourful neighbourhoods, modern skyscrapers and luscious city-in-nature experiences. New episodes will air weekly. Christopher Ho, Head of Kids – Southeast Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said: "It was important for us to create stories and environments that feel authentically ‘Singapore’ – and at the same time honour the distinct animation style and sense of humour that has made Tom and Jerry so well loved for generations. Catch their antics as they experience local delicacies durian and ice kachang, and encounter Merli – a character inspired by Singapore’s mythical Merlion – in iconic locations like the Botanic Gardens, Sentosa and Marina Bay." Tom and Jerry is one of the leading animation properties in Warner Bros. Discovery’s franchise portfolio, with a global social reach of 50 million and almost 30 billion minutes watched on the Warner Bros. Kids YouTube channel. There have been more than 500 episodes and 15 movies made so far in its 83-year history, securing seven Academy Awards along the way. This new series is part of a wider partnership between Warner Bros. Discovery and Singapore Tourism Board to collaborate on content that will spotlight and inspire travel to destination Singapore.

The show was announced on April 2021, and first publicly shown in Cartoon Network Australia's "New in 2023" promo.[2]
This is the first Tom and Jerry series to be produced in Asia. It is animated by Aum Animation Studios in India. The stories and character designs are designed by Singapore-based Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios.[1] Christopher Ho, head of kids, Southeast Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery announced, “This series brings back the iconic music and classic animation style from the Hanna-Barbera 1950s era – but with a modern Singaporean twist. With distinctive landmarks, backdrops and atmosphere, the Asian city-state is the ideal location to create a humorous addition to the Tom and Jerry canon. Working with homegrown creative talent in Singapore and across Asia, this project grows the much-loved franchise in the region and beyond.”[1]
Vishnu Athreya, senior vice president of series, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios stated: “Tom and Jerry are two of our most universally loved characters, proving that laughs can translate to any audience. The fans in Asia have long embraced these characters and it’s great to finally give them a version to call their own.”[1]
Furthermore, a variety of merchandise for the series is set to launch later in 2023.[1]

The series began airing in Southeast Asia on October 21, 2023. During its airing time, one episode aired per weekend (and at one point aired two episodes in the same week). The series is set to have seven episodes planned to air. All the episodes have aired as of December 9, 2023.
Two of the episodes, "What's That Smell" and "Be Careful What You Fish For", were each uploaded on Cartoonito France, Portugal, Türkiye and Boomerang UK on January 2024.

- The first episodic series to not feature any humans (except for "What's That Smell?", where humans are pictured retching at the smell of the durian).
- The first series without any sort of dialogue, although there would be new screams for Tom in this, along with William Hanna's archive audio.
- The first of most series were Tom and Jerry have some new designs.
