What Goes Around Comes Around is the second episode of the Tom and Jerry series, Tom and Jerry Singapore.

Synopsis[]

Tom is up to his usual nonsense, but two can play at this game as they take their chase into the neighborhood. Leave it to Jerry to turn the tables on Tom!

Plot[]

The episode begins with Jerry fleeing from a remote-controlled Batmobile driven by Tom in their apartment. The car is equipped with spikes on its front, which injure Jerry and elicit a scream of pain. In the next scene, Jerry scurries over the sofa but is confronted by Tom, who is armed with a tennis ball shooter from the other side. As Jerry runs quickly, he is struck by a ball, sending him crashing into the fridge. Disoriented, Jerry dashes into the kitchen, as Tom munches on a banana, eagerly waiting for Jerry to drop the peel. Successfully, Jerry slips on the peel and crashes into the high chair. In another scene, Jerry stumbles upon a cardboard cutout of Tom holding a spatula and screaming in terror. Initially startled, he quickly realizes it's just a fake and pushes it aside. However, when he spots another Tom brandishing a spatula, he approaches with curiosity—only to discover it's the real Tom! Caught off guard, he gets swatted by the spatula, flattening him against it before being launched into a computer screen. Jerry ends up flattened like an accordion, landing comically in a pencil holder on a desk.

Tom bursts into laughter at Jerry's predicament and gleefully checks off another successful prank in his diary. Feeling triumphant, he strolls along and spots a balloon. A mischievous smile spreads across his face as he hatches a plan to use it against Jerry. Emerging cautiously from the pencil holder, Jerry glances around nervously, his instincts alert to the dangers in his surroundings. As he attempts to sneak past the desk, he unexpectedly encounters an intimidating balloon adorned with the fierce visage of an Asian demon. The menacing design sends shivers down his spine, intensifying his trepidation. The terrifying sight literally scares the skeleton out of Jerry, making him leap frantically back into the safety of the pencil holder, his heart racing wildly.

Tom, who can’t contain his amusement, holds the balloon triumphantly, but as he squeezes it, it bursts with a loud pop, sending him soaring up to the ceiling fan in surprise. Jerry bursts into laughter at the sight. However, the fan can’t support Tom's weight, and he crashes down from above. As his laughter continues, Jerry can’t help but revel in Tom’s misfortune. But soon, Tom shakes off the remnants of the ceiling fan, his anger boiling over. He begins chasing Jerry, who is still snickering at the chaos he created. The cat runs after the mouse, determined to catch him and settle the score.

Jerry slams the framed door shut just as Tom rushes through, sending him tumbling into a heap of scattered parts. Tom races after Jerry down the building's stairs. As Tom charges forward, Jerry swiftly positions a skateboard in his path, causing the cat to slip and launch up a playground slide. Tom then tumbles down into a playground tunnel. Laughing, Jerry taunts Tom, inviting the cat to chase him once more.

Jerry pivots to face Tom, who screams in terror at the sight of Jerry holding a leash attached to what appears to be a real bulldog. In a panic, Tom retreats and hides behind a corner, peeking out cautiously. Jerry bursts into laughter at Tom’s nervousness. Just then, the cardboard cutout of the bulldog topples over, prompting Tom to chase Jerry to another corner, where he encounters a sheet depicting Spike, held up by something. Realizing it's another fake when he picks up the paper cutout of the bulldog, Tom, now irritated with Jerry, rolls up the sheet into a tube. Jerry dashes past the real Spike in an alleyway. Mistaking the bulldog for yet another fake, Tom approaches and tries to uncover it, only to inadvertently pull off Spike's skin, rolling it up like a tube. Hearing Spike growl, Tom suddenly realizes he's dealing with the genuine article, freezing in place as he drops the makeshift roll. Spike lunges at Tom, but the cat narrowly escapes his grasp.

Tom crouches behind a building corner, heart racing in fear as he hears Spike searching for him. Desperate to evade his pursuer, he tries to sneak away but is suddenly startled by a balloon shaped like an Asian demon, which nearly scares the skeleton out of him. Spike catches sight of Tom, now appearing as a skeletal figure, and seems puzzled. However, his confusion quickly turns to delight as he realizes how tasty Tom’s skeleton looks. With a happy growl, Spike begins chasing after skeletal Tom, who screams as he dashes down the streets of Singapore. Jerry marks his diary with a satisfied grin, noting the success of his revenge plan against Tom. He winks at the camera, radiating excitement, as the scene fades out on his joyful expression.
