(It is another sunny day in New York. Jerry is standing on the street and looking at people having meals in a restaurant nearby. His stomach is growling. After a moment, Jerry spots the fast-food vendor giving Tom a pretzel at the opposite corner of the street. Tom takes the gift.)
Tom: *sniffs the pretzel*
(When Jerry attempts to approach Tom, he gets stomped by the crowd.)
Jerry: *shakes his head* (Jerry runs closer. People are surrounding the vendor, buying snacks from him.)
The vendor: *winks at Tom*
Tom: *gestures at the vendor* (Tom walks away happily. Jerry comes closer and hides behind a lamp post, when Tom is about to take the first bite. Jerry leaps and grabs the pretzel in flight, robbing Tom from his meal.) *Looks around*
(Tom runs in anger to the subway station. A thud noise is heard and two rats carry Tom out, then they hurl him. Tom lands at a fence with Jerry standing nearby with the stolen pretzel. Jerry attempts to hide, but Tom spots the stolen pretzel being dragged into the gap. He grabs it and makes opposing strength checks with Jerry. It turns out that the animals have entered a demolition zone.)
Jerry: *loses grip*
(Tom gets dragged into the demolition zone by force, he stumbles on the ground. When he recovers, he attempts to kick Jerry, but Jerry dodges. Tom leaps in pain, then he rushes after Jerry inside the building. He runs upstairs, despite the surface collapsing. Tom eventually climbs the upper floor, with considerable effort.)
Tom: *pants* (Tom looks around, but he spots no sign of Jerry. He approaches a nearby window. When he rolls the cover, dust makes him fall back.)
Tom and Jerry together: *cough*
(Tom and Jerry spot one another. The chase is resumed. Jerry hides under a spider web in the corner. Tom approaches Jerry and sees a shadow of a huge spider.)
Tom: AAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGHHHH! (Tom cowers in fear and peeks behind. It turns out that the spider is much smaller than the shadow it casts.) *sighs with relief* (A small spider passes near Tom's foot. Tom spots the insect and attempts to stomp it. After a couple of attempts, Tom breaks the floor beneath himself and falls down. A moment passes, then Tom shakes the unconsciousness off. He finds a ladder and sets it to climb up.)
Jerry: *strikes a worried facial expression* (Jerry leaves the area shaded by a cobweb. He grabs a laundry iron and hurls it towards Tom. The iron hits Tom when he reaches the floor and breaks him teeth.)
Tom: *gulps*
(Tom swallows the iron. The weight causes the ladder to break and he gets down, breaking another floor downwards. Tom lands inside a bathtub, which is still functioning. A large stream of water flushes Tom outside the tub. Soaking Tom lands near a chute. Tom stares at it and gets an idea - he uses the chute to reach upper floors.)
Jerry: *walks away* (Jerry stumbles upon a mirror and gets an idea. Tom manages to climb upwards as planned, while Jerry is drawing figures on the mirror. It turns out that Jerry depicted Tom's caricature on a dusty mirror. Tom isn't fond of such satire. Jerry flees, but Tom steps on the mirror and slides back into the hole he made a while ago. The cat lands on the tub level. Jerry looks through the hole. Tom recovers and looks upwards.) *blows raspberry*
Tom: *looks around*
(Tom gathers boxes to prepare a makeshift climbing wall. Leftover pieces of furniture and junk are gradually added to the pile. Tom climbs to Jerry, but his construction crashes beneath him.)
Jerry: Hahahaha! (Tom rises from the hole.) AAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGHHHH! (Jerry flees and Tom goes after him. The mouse uses a radiator to reach the window, then he leaps outside. Tom follows by and goes outside the block, to a balcony. He moves upwards, where Jerry is trying to reach the roof. ) *looks downwards* (Jerry spots Tom approaching him, so he attempts to hide at the wall. Tom climbs the ladder, but metal clangs and tom falls down. He lands on a mattress, then he gets ejected to a pile of tires and hits a brick pile.)
Tom: *shatters into pieces*
Jerry: Hahahaha!
(Tom recovers and looks at the demolition vehicle. He stares at Jerry with an evil grin.)
Jerry: *walks around happily* (Jerry suddenly stops and gets shocked. Tom starts the engine and drives towards Jerry. The mouse runs and narrowly escapes the wrecking ball.) AAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGHHHH! (Tom keeps attacking Jerry with the wrecking ball relentlessly. A block after a block is demolished with loud crash. Jerry keeps running and avoiding blows. The chase ends after leaping past a gap between the blocks. Jerry tries to cower before the blow, when he finds a mousehole when the wrecking ball stops working.)
Tom: *shakes his head in rage* (Tom tries to manipulate the levers, but it turns out the vehicle ran out of fuel, therefore won't work. Tom shakes in rage, while Jerry simply walks into the mouse hole. Tom leaps from the vehicle and approaches the building, where Jerry is apparently hiding. He doesn't spot cables protruding from the entrance. Dramatic music is played in the background, as the screen leads the audience to a remote explosive detonator. A construction worker eating a pretzel approaches the detonator.)
The worker: *hides his pretzel* (The man looks at his watch. He finishes his meal. Meanwhile, Jerry is sliding to the ground floor using wall beams. He tries to run away, but Tom grabs him from a surprise.)
Tom: *hits Jerry at top of the head with fist*
(A rumbling noise is heard in the background, then an explosion follows. The abandoned tenement block is demolished to the ground. Tom emerges from the brick avalanche first, then he slides down. A pretzel lies nearby in the brick pile. Jerry emerges from the pile just above the pretzel.)
Jerry: *grabs the pretzel and hands it to Tom*
Tom: *breaks a chunk of the pretzel and gives it to Jerry*
(Both animals are having the pretzel with a trumpet music playing in the background. The episode ends.)
