"Zent Out of Shape" is the forty-third episode of Tom and Jerry Tales.
Synopsis[]
Tom is a practicing Zen Buddhist monk in Japan, where he seeks to achieve inner peace in a Japanese monastery near the sea. However, he's constantly disturbed by Jerry's loud activities. This prompts Tom's anger and Tom tries to eliminate Jerry out of the monastery.
Plot[]
In Japan at Zen garden, Tom raking the Japanese dry landscape to draw the picture of himself. Suddenly he hears the music coming from causing the rake tapping on the landscape, causing the sand to fly everywhere and the rake to tap onto him so he get up and shake the sand off and spit out the sand and sees the drawing of himself screaming and then sees Jerry playing the flute, Tom is about to beat Jerry up but he stops and take a deep breath and calm himself down until the rake gets smashed to his face. Jerry continues playing the flute but when he tries to blows into the flute, Tom blocks the flute with one of his fingers. Then Tom takes the flute from Jerry, but Jerry prays himself until Tom pick him up, put him inside the flute and blow Jerry through the paper panels until Jerry crashes to the wall, much to the mouse’s anger.
Later, Tom is trimming his tree, until Jerry interrupts him by playing his drums. Tom puts him in a cymbal, and sends him into flying into the drum. As Tom is relaxing, he gets startled by Jerry lighting up the fireworks, and appears in a Samurai outfit to try and swing his sword at him but hits it on a rock, breaking his sword and revealing his underwear, as he chuckles covering himself. Then, he stalks Jerry, who is carrying the sheet music and instruments with him in his tree, and garden statues, ties him up to a firework, and makes an Origami bird that he puts on his head, before blasting him into the water. However, his victory is short-lived, as Jerry, who had landed on Spike, in the form of Godzilla, rises out of the water and roars at him, burning him to ashes. Jerry then gets off of him, and the two attempt to escape. Tom is cornered by Spike, who grabs him, and when he is about to eat him, Jerry plays his instruments, making him happy and dance with Tom from day to night as the episode ends.
